In this role you will:

Work with business teams to understand requirements, and translate them into technical needsDirectly engage with external data partners to evaluate and build relationships to acquire and access real-world data assetsCollect and mine data from disparate data sources, and willing to dig deeper and understand the process that creates the dataDefine and refine how Data Science can accelerate Sanofi digital products, with the goal of using data science to better understand the patient journey and to help us tailor interventions that maximize patient benefitProficient at collecting and mining data from disparate data sources, and willing to dig deeper and understand the process that creates the dataIdentify opportunities for data-centric AI approaches to enrich M&S modelsUse data analysis, visualization, storytelling, and data technologies to scope, define and deliver AI-based data products to accelerate and optimize manufacturing and supply chainUnderstanding and effectively work with a wide variety of data sources, such as structured and unstructured data, IoT dataGenerate work product that includes interactive visualizations, presentations, publications, web applications, predictive algorithms, and APIsBuild models, algorithms, simulations, and performance evaluation by writing highly optimized, deployable code and using state-of-the art machine learning technologiesRegularly evaluate data assets and identify potential impact on downstream analysisBuild, manage and lead a team made of data analyst and data scientistWork in close relationship with data engineers and full stack engineersAssist and train assistants and other members of the team on how to properly organize findings and read data collected 

 

About you

You are a dynamic data scientist interested in challenging the status quo to ensure development and impact of Sanofi's AI solutions for the patients of tomorrow. You are an influencer and leader who has deployed AI/ML solutions applying state-of-the art algorithms with technically robust lifecycle management. You have a keen eye for improvement opportunities and a demonstrated ability to deliver AI/ML solutions while working across different technologies and in a cross-functional environment. 

 

Experience:

More than 8 to 10 years' experienceExperience developing deployable code and deploying models in product-focused development under an agile environmentExperience in production-ready software developmentExcellent business analysis, data visualization and data storytelling skillsExcellent management and articulation of a team of Data Scientists and data analystsContinuous support to help team members throughout their personal and professional developmentExperience in a healthcare or manufacturing company is a strong plus

 

Soft skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with multiple teams to drive alignment and resultsService-oriented, flexible, positive team playerSelf-motivated, takes initiativeProblem solving & critical thinking

Technical skills: 

Expertise in business analysis, data visualization and data storytellingExpertise with core data science languages (such as Python, R, C++), and familiarity with different database systems (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Graph, timeseries)Expertise with sensitive data in critical environments (healthcare, defense)Expertise within most of the following areas: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, LLMs, reinforcement learning, federated learning, time series forecasting, Bayesian statistics, optimizationComfortable working in cloud and high-performance computing environments (e.g. AWS, Azure, Apache Spark)Hands-on AI/ML modeling experience of complex datasets combined with strong understanding of theoretical foundations of AI/ML (CI/CD, Orchestration)Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, Streamlit or similarExperience with various enterprise-level Application Programming Interfaces (API's)Experience with database mining, big data, and large-scale virtual screening using Bayesian Optimization or Gaussian Processes is desiredStrong knowledge of Data and AI regulations

 Education:

Master's degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, computational sciences or a related quantitative discipline OR PhD + 3 years of relevant work & domain experience
