Digital Marketing Manager
Job Summary:

Disney Entertainment Studios segment encompasses global entertainment media and content, including streaming. The Disney Entertainment Brand Digital Marketing team oversees digital programming development, strategy, planning, publishing, and operations for @Disney, @DisneyPlus (domestic and international), @MickeyMouse, @MinnieMouse, @TheMuppets,  @DisneyPrincesses and Disney.com across digital and social platforms. Responsibilities include brand platform development, content creation, event strategies, digital brand marketing, corporate social responsibility amplification, studio title marketing campaign integration, and cross-line-of-business support.

A dedicated, dynamic, and passionate Digital Marketing Manager is needed for the Disney Entertainment Digital Marketing Team to help orchestrate global YouTube strategy & programming across The Walt Disney Company’s core brands and franchises. This role will be responsible for working with stakeholders within Studios to execute a cohesive digital strategic plan for core brands Disney, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar and with stakeholders from across the company to ensure alignment to strategic priorities, content programming schedules, and more.

Candidates should be collaborative, creative, and organized, with a strong understanding of all digital platforms, especially YouTube. Additionally, the ideal candidate would have a background in digital or social video strategy and production. Candidates should be proactive, a strong team player, and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to adapt to processes, meet deadlines, and work with multiple stakeholders across business units within The Walt Disney Company is key.

Responsibilities:

Primarily focusing on Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, Disney+ Made-for-Kids and General Audience YouTube channels, under the guidance of Sr. Manager, this role’s responsibilities include supporting Disney’s YouTube portfolio in the following areas:

Manage execution of digital campaigns and macro-level strategies considering brand voice, content volumes, creative themes, rollout strategies, and calendar prioritization 

Manage development of overarching digital campaigns, macro-level strategies by brand, content volumes, creative themes, rollout strategies, and calendar prioritization in collaboration with Sr. Manager

Data input, updates, and maintenance of strategy and programming calendars using Airtable

Assist in strategic deliverables inclusive of copywriting, deck design, and research

Collaborate with internal teams throughout content development lifecycle

Assist in development of weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates to VP and Corporate Brand

Oversee the distribution of YouTube documents to relevant stakeholders as directed by team leadership

Assists in management of repository of all capability documents across Google Drive, Box, OneDrive/SharePoint

Help coordinate meetings across key stakeholders’ calendars

Collaborate on calendar planning with Brand & Title counterparts to ensure windowing alignment across the org

Collaborate with cross functional teams across Disney Entertainment, Global Marketing Strategy, Digital COE, and broader TWDC enterprise for campaign development and long lead planning that is aligned with Brand & Franchise priorities

Provide project status updates to VP and Corporate Brand

Oversees the management and updating of all team planning documents, strategies, presentations, and guidelines/process documents for global YouTube

Manages overarching programming calendars, communication, and Airtables ensuring deadlines are met for internal and external partners

Accountable for team quarterly team planning meeting agendas and action items

Manages repository of cross functional team meeting agendas domestically and internationally, including action items and delivery dates

Disseminate insights on platform updates and best practices for the capability and cross-network teams

Research projects as assigned by leadership

Maintain a database of noteworthy creators and vendors the teams can leverage

Assist in training and providing guidance to Jr. staff and interns

Basic Qualifications:

3+ years’ relevant experience with digital marketing for brand and entertainment properties

YouTube experience required, passion for the platform preferred

Demonstrates ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, make business decisions, and change course of action quickly

Demonstrates ability to advise on agency, vendors and contracts as needed

Experience working across multiple mediums – social media, digital placements, websites

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects and within a highly matrixed organization

Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure successful stakeholder interactions, strong working relations and the ability to interface with varied levels of management, senior peers and partners across varying teams

Experience in a highly collaborative environment with the ability to be open minded to feedback and always seeking out the best idea, not just their own idea

Participates in determining objectives of assignments. Plans, schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives and can delegate work appropriately

Outstanding communication skills, written and oral.

Demonstrate strong working knowledge & emerging media and new technology platforms.

Experience with visual storytelling, and producing compelling and engaging social content

A passion for YouTube, Disney, and brand stewardship

Demonstrate strong creative strategy, original and outside the box thinking

Openness to feedback with the ability to defend a strategy choice while respectfully managing revisions

Solution-oriented perspective that manages change well

Ability to manage time efficiently and work within a deadline-oriented environment

Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Knowledge and understanding of social media KPIs

Preferred Qualifications:

Broad understanding of the role of social media in society today and its application to business

Advanced proficiency with Google, Microsoft Office Suite and Keynote is preferred

Experience with Airtable, Sprinkler, and Google Suite

Global stakeholder management experience

Education:

BA or BS in Journalism, Film, Marketing, and/or relevant field, or equivalent experience


The hiring range for this position in California is $94,200.00 to $126,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
