The Production Technology Engineering Team at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a qualified Digital Media Engineer I to join our team!

The Digital Media Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the configuration, preventive and corrective maintenance of software, computer, and networking equipment at Univision’s Networks Miami Campus related to production systems.

As part of the Production Technology Engineering Team, you will interface directly with many of the shows produced in our Miami, FL facilities as well as the ones produced at remote facilities. Our team is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and supporting digital media systems that provide editing, transcoding, graphics, audio, and other critical services that the production operations teams rely on for day-to-day operations.

You will work directly with and report to the Assistant Director of Technology responsible for the systems at our production facility in Miami, FL.

ABOUT YOU:

You are a detail-oriented engineer who loves to work with and learn about various types of technologies. You have very good troubleshooting skills as well as hands-on experience with different types of computers and operating systems.

YOUR DAY-DAY:

Monitor e-mail, messaging, and ITSM systems for any issues affecting production systems and respond to them quickly.Install, upgrade, and maintain hardware, software, and peripherals. Communicate on-going issues with your team and clients via e-mail, team messaging, or IT Service Management tools.Along with other team members, maintain and update the central documentation repository for all production systems in the building.Provide input on equipment and software purchases. Complete daily shift reports giving details about tasks performed, solutions to problems solved and any open items that still need to be resolved by the following shifts. Review all Engineering shift reports and pick up any tasks that were not able to be completed by the previous shift.  Work together with other Digital Media Engineers as well as Production Engineers providing support for digital systems as well as production equipment such as cameras, routers, and other.TelevisaUnivision is a 24x7 media company.  Work periods include day, night, weekend, and holiday rotations. 

YOU HAVE:

AS or BS degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, related physical sciences or equivalent work experience. Minimum three years of module level repair and system configuration experience. Ability to troubleshoot Mac and PC software problems, including problems with the operating systems (macOS, Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows Server, Linux), applications, drivers, etc.  Experience with Avid Interplay Production Asset Management, Media Composer, and Pro Tools Systems required. Avid ACSR Certification a plus.  Experience with the majority of the following: Telestream Vantage, VizRT, Web browsers, EVS, NAS Storage. Familiarity with remote query tools (such as netOctopus, Apple Remote Desktop), remote control (such as RDP, VNC), and software distribution tools (such as FileWave, ARD).  In-depth understanding of digital audio and video signals, compression methodologies, codecs and digital media standards. Self-organized with significant attention to detail and procedures.  Experience supporting end users, including all levels of management with exceptional customer service.  Knowledge of television production best practices as well as familiarity with production equipment such as cameras, audio monitoring, routers, sound boards, etc. is preferred but not required.Ability to follow through on support requests promptly, escalating to other team members or manufacturer support when appropriate.  Ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic work environment.  Ability to lift heavy equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs.). Proficient English Oral and Written Communication. Multilingual capabilities in Spanish would be beneficial.
