Information Technology is seeking a talented student to produce and edit digital, photographic, and video content for our multiple information and communication platforms including the IT website, mobile app, as well as our various social media, print, and digital outlets.
Working in collaboration with our communications team, you will be expected to produce and edit content that will support and promote the services and communication offered by Information Technology and the tech industry. In doing so, you will be tasked with strategically planning, developing, and publishing visually compelling content that will better engage our audiences through our various platforms. This position reports to the Customer Experience Specialist.
CORE CAPABILITIES AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Produce multimedia content (video, audio, motion graphics, and still visuals) to support IT initiatives and awareness campaigns. Capture and edit video and audio for The New School’s internal and external audiences, ensuring content aligns with brand and accessibility standards. Design and animate motion graphics to explain technical concepts or promote services in a visually engaging way. Create visual assets for presentations, training materials, campus signage (digital and print), and online platforms. Collaborate with IT staff, especially the Customer Success team, to understand project needs and translate technical information into clear, creative content. Assist with scripting and storyboarding for video and animation projects. Publish content to The New School’s website, social media, and internal communication tools. Ensure accessibility and mobile optimization of multimedia content. Help organize and manage multimedia files and support project timeline tracking. Stay up-to-date on trends in media production, digital storytelling, and higher ed communications.


WORK MODEThis position is primarily in-person and is based on campus to support effective in-person collaboration and engagement. Hybrid work arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the role and operational needs. Any such arrangement must be discussed and approved in advance by the appropriate division lead or their designee.
HOURLY RATE$18 per hour

An ideal candidate will be: A self-starter capable of developing engaging content and ensuring its publication Comfortable taking direction and feedback from multiple people Comfortable working on multiple projects at once, including video and graphical content Familiar with various social media platforms, web, and other emerging media Highly organized, accountable and reliable Preferred Qualifications: An ideal candidate will also have: Strong written and verbal communication skills for messaging with various audience types (eg. students, faculty, staff, etc.) Strong time management skills Videography production and editing skills Graphics and/or web design background
