Job Summary/Description:

WCTV is recruiting a driven, competitive, and digitally savvy content producer to help us engage and expand our online audience. As the dominant station in the Tallahassee-Thomasville DMA, we lead the market across all platforms. Our website averages more than 3 million pageviews a month, and our social media pages reach hundreds of thousands of users. The Digital Content Producer will write articles and create visual content, track engagement/consumption, and help us in building up ''WCTV Now,'' which is a digital news desk that we use to stream live content to our app, as well as services like Roku and Apple TV.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Breaking news with accurate and compelling articles/push alerts
- Crafting text, photo, and/or video posts for our social media pages
- Clipping videos to attach to our web articles, or for standalone social posts
- Following up on viewer tips sent in through emails or direct messages
- Pitching and brainstorming ideas to help increase web traffic and audience engagement
- Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors

Qualifications/Requirements:

- An internship in a commercial newsroom
- Knowledge of CMS
- Working knowledge of web and social platforms
- A commitment to 100% accuracy
- A desire to grow in a newsroom and become full-time
