Digital Platform Azure DevOps Lead

Job Description:

The Digital Platforms DevOps Lead will spearhead the DevOps function within the digital platforms team, focusing on implementing, managing, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and process automation. This role will closely collaborate with the product delivery team, architects, integration team, support team, and other internal groups such as the Mars DevOps Center of Excellence and the Mars Cloud team. The team also partners extensively with external stakeholders to secure the necessary functional or technical support.

This position is critical to the Global Petcare Digital Growth organization, ensuring the seamless deployment, scaling, and operation of digital platforms. The DevOps Lead's efforts will enable faster, more reliable software delivery and enhance the overall user experience.


What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Digital, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

At least 8 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or equivalent Proven experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred) or Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Proven experience with production Kubernetes clusters as well as with scripting languages such as Bash or Python

Advanced proficiency working with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Azure DevOps Pipeline

Experience managing complex technical projects on an international level

Previous experience as a lead of technical teams with external and internal actors

Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)

Understanding of Digital environment with Agile methodologies and User centric methodologies Strong understanding of Digital architectures, security and standards.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Certifications such as Certified Information Systems …, or equivalent are preferred.

 


What will be your key responsibilities?

Leadership and Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Define DevOps strategy, standards, and best practices aligned with the organization's goals.CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development and deployment process. Ensure the pipelines are efficient, scalable, and secure.Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates. Ensure all infrastructure changes are version-controlled and auditable.Cloud Management: Oversee the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Optimize cloud resource usage, ensuring scalability, availability, and cost-efficiency.Monitoring and Incident Management: Develop and implement monitoring solutions to ensure the health and performance of digital platforms. Manage incident response processes, including root cause analysis and preventive measures. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems.Security and Compliance: Implement DevSecOps practices, ensuring security is integrated into all stages of the development lifecycle. Maintain compliance with relevant standards and regulations.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with development, QA, and product teams to ensure smooth operations and alignment of DevOps practices with project requirements. Act as a bridge between engineering and operations teams.Automation: Drive automation efforts to enhance efficiency across development and operations workflows and to reduce manual errors.Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve the infrastructure and deployment processes to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. Optimize infrastructure costs through analysis and implementation of cost-saving measures.
