Position Summary:
Rising the daily digital opinion program for The Hill is looking for a digital producer. Rising is primarily distributed on YouTube and The Hill TV FAST streaming channel. The 90-minute morning show features commentary and analysis from all sides of the political spectrum. The program also features interviews with political and cultural newsmakers. Rising is produced five days a week and consists of ten segments per episode.
The Digital Producer will report to the Executive Producer. The successful candidate will bring strong digital experience, creativity and be proficient in social media tools, trends and analytics.
Responsibilities:
· Write engaging headlines and copy with the YouTube user in mind.
· Produce original content for the overall video team.
· Clip videos, SOTS, and segments to post on our social media platforms.
· Pre-screen and book guests.
· Pitch ideas in a timely manner with SEO focus in mind to grow digital audience.
· The successful candidate understands how to craft engaging segments from trending headlines.
· Advocate for political stories that will appeal to YouTube audience.
Qualifications:
· 3 - 5 years of digital experience with focus on political and pop culture news.
· 2 years of producing engaging segments.
· Intermediate knowledge of Adobe creative suite.
· Proficient in the latest social media skills.
Education: Journalism, TV/Film degree
This is an in-office position based in Washington, DC.
