KX News is looking for a Digital Producer to produce digital news connecting our website and social media to the newscast.

You will help create fun, social media campaigns that can be incorporated to our news programs as well.

The Digital Producer leads the transition from broadcast focused newsrooms to multi-platform newsrooms through active daily example; providing training in methods, processes and tactics; as well as in creating/editing original content beyond that which is produced for on-air.

Produce a steady stream of interesting original content as well as content shared from other stations in the countryExpert understanding of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platformsUse social media and Website to build and reinforce brand recognition and drive viewers to televisionExcellent Writing SkillsGathers information about events through research, interviews, experience or attendance at political, news, sports, artistic, social or other functionsPitches stories during morning and afternoon editorial meetings with local emphasisQuick to report to Breaking NewsAlways on a hunt for exclusive and/or trending content Excellent at writing headlines that grow audience and engagement Understands different ways to tell a story, particularly producing short videos and choosing great photos from station archives and stock photography optionsResearch and analyze background information related to news stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate informationShoots and edits content for on-air and digitalProduces reports for all platformsBuild positive working relationships with station staff and management, work collaboratively on digital content original for the platform, and create opportunities to market web content on broadcastEnsures that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production qualityBuilds and calendars digital campaigns to promote local shows and specialsFinds new ways to use Social Media and our website to engage with viewersPerforms other duties as assigned

 Requirements & Skills:

Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferredProficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Basic HTML preferredCSS, Flash and other relevant technology skills is a plusMaintain positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers in all departmentsResponds positively to feedback
