Job Summary/Description:

The (Evening) Digital Content Producer/Reporter gathers, writes, reports, and copy edits news stories for all digital platforms (web site, news app, social media). The Digital Producer/Reporter is expected to generate story ideas daily for oth digital and broadcast coverage, as well as being responsible for copyediting and posting multimedia content generated by other staff members. On-camera appearances on CTV, television, and digital platforms/social media should also be expected. This position may also be called upon to shoot and live stream press conferences or breaking news events as warranted. The Evening Digital Producer/Reporter shift is Monday-Friday 1:30pm-10:30pm (with a one hour break), as well as fill-in shifts, as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

* Strong journalism and writing skills with an emphasis on AP style
* Copy-edit digital news stories written by other newsroom reporters
* Social media skills as related to journalism
* Make phone calls and work with other reporters/newsmakers to generate content for all digital platforms and broadcast
* Create eye-catching visuals and graphics to increase digital and social media engagement
* Develop and maintain sources for online and on-air reporting
* Constant vigilance of current events
* Respond to viewer/reader inquiries by phone, email, and social media
* Various shift work will be required; holiday work required

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Knowledge of AP Stylebook
* Able to use social media outlets to engage viewers
* Must be able to work well under pressure and with limited supervision
* Strong initiative and attention to detail is required
* Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving in a manner that will work well with co-workers, supervisors, and viewers/readers
* Solid keyboarding skills
* Comfort and clear, accurate, conversational delivery style on-air and on digital LIVE platforms
* Ability to work with Google Docs, ARC CMS, ENPS, Grass Valley edit, or equivalent
* College Degree in Journalism or equivalent
* Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
