Digital Signage and Production Technician
Digital Signage and Production Technician **Employment Type:** Full Time **Date Posted:** 3/3/2025 **Location:** Maplewood, MN **Pay Range:** Negotiable **Job Number:** JO-2503-2612 **Primary Function** Provide support and maintenance of global digital signage and Maplewood-based video production equipment for event-based communications projects. This position will primarily focus on routine PC-based maintenance of digital signage projects and equipment, as well as assisting with technical production equipment support of live virtual & hybrid events, studio recordings, award programs and live auditorium productions as needed. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Digital signage operations, including all maintenance, repairs, customer service, PC and design work for client related digital signage projects. Support of a Scala-based platform with potential change over project management to cloud-based global delivery platform. + Assist with all production-related technical engineering roles and responsibilities. Understand and perform advanced technical operations within the studios, conference rooms, auditoriums, and other production equipment installed locations. + Shadow the production team to develop an all-encompassing knowledge of operational processes. Identify opportunities and contribute to the enhancement of production and operational best practices. + Manage daily system operations, troubleshooting offline locations with local IT for off-campus sites, and travel to various on-campus locations. + Collaborate with the onsite AV Tech team to diagnose equipment issues, quarterly PC auto logon deployment, work with corporate comms team for special event creation and scheduling, database management, client consultation, user training, and local/remote PC configuration. + The technician will work with AV Engineer on studio installation projects, troubleshoot technical issues with production venues, document, and train on best practices, assist special event setups, research innovative technologies, and perform equipment repair. + Routine, sometimes daily, event monitoring and support from the Multimedia Productions engineering headquarters (“head end”) to 10 different production auditoriums/studios at the client's center. + Monitoring and support include following video routing assignments, assess sound check via fiber feed prior to each event with audio tech over the phone, starting and monitoring the full duration of web streams for hybrid events, triaging any technical problems with the event staff, assisting with any set up for green screen studio productions, archiving event recordings, and consulting with producers on any technical needs. **Skills & Qualifications** + Basic knowledge of understanding line drawings, operation of production equipment and AV networking would be required. + Demonstrates strong written and verbal communications + Proficiently work with Microsoft O365 software + Ability to perform and execute in high stress, high profile situations + Demonstrates poise, focus and professional demeanor + Team and project management skills + Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently + Ability to read and respond to a high volume of email in a timely manner + Broad working knowledge of web-based communication applications + Operational knowledge of digital file formats, manipulation/conversion, virtual platforms, and formatting for distribution + Willingness to work outside of normal hours to ensure project success **Education & Experience** + CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification + Extensive Windows PC and networking knowledge + Associate’s degree from an accredited college or technical school + Minimum of 5 years of AV experience, or 8 years without degree + Personal vehicle to travel between work sites required + Able to lift 40 pounds unassisted **To Apply** Use the link at the bottom of this page to apply.
