Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Digital Engineer to join our Mobility team and support the digital transformation of infrastructure and capital delivery programs across public and private sector portfolios. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining digital platforms—such as Project Management Information Systems (PMIS), data integration solutions, and engineering workflow automation—within a multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include developing and implementing automation workflows and scripting solutions to optimize engineering processes and digital delivery. The role involves supporting and applying industry standards and digital best practices to improve efficiency, consistency, and transparency across infrastructure projects. Expertise in digital tools, PMIS, data workflows, and engineering tools such as BIM and Common Data Environments (CDEs) platforms, along with familiarity with ISO 19650 and Canadian infrastructure delivery frameworks, is essential to ensure high-quality support across planning, design, and delivery phases. This position is ideal for professionals with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset who are eager to contribute to impactful digital initiatives while continuing to grow in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
Role accountabilities:
As a Senior Digital Engineer, you will coordinate and support the implementation of digital platforms such as PMIS, Common Data Environments (CDE), and automation tools across multidisciplinary projects. You will develop and maintain standards, templates, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for digital delivery in alignment with ISO 19650 and organizational frameworks. Your role will include facilitating model federation, clash detection, data validation, and the delivery of 3D/4D/5D outputs. Additionally, you will automate reporting, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), and engineering workflows using tools such as Power Automate, Python, Dynamo, or similar technologies. You will also participate in requirements gathering, solution evaluations, and piloting new tools or digital innovations to drive efficiency and innovation.
You will lead and contribute to workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and digital onboarding for project teams. As part of a collaborative team, you will liaise with project managers, engineers, IT teams, and vendors to ensure digital requirements are clearly understood and met. You will provide technical input, digital solution narratives, and resource planning to support bid and proposal efforts. Additionally, you will contribute to enterprise-wide digital maturity assessments and continuous improvement strategies by analyzing design workflows and construction processes to identify bottlenecks and proposing productivity improvement solutions.
In this role, you will create and manage standardized templates to improve QA/QC consistency and compliance. You will develop scripts to automate process workflows for linear infrastructure designs and repetitive engineering calculations. Furthermore, you will support the integration of APIs across digital platforms to enhance data flow and system connectivity, enabling seamless collaboration and efficient project delivery. Your expertise and proactive approach will play a key role in driving digital transformation and delivering high-quality outcomes.
