Our team “Data and AI China” develops innovative solutions to derive insights from data that support better and faster business decisions. We implement end to end solutions in their complete lifecycles and provide comprehensive services in various domains for BASF China business partners.

In this role, you have good business and data sense, you will discuss application features with users and write the code for Proof of Concepts and the final applications.

Independent development, enhancement, and migration of applications / modules /interfaces / tools / communication solutions

You can create and maintain applications using prompt engineering and fine-tuning large language models for specific applications, experience with technology and frameworks like RAG, text chunking, hybrid searching, reranking, LangChain or LlamaIndex, and familiar more multi-modal models.

You ensure an efficient collaboration with global and regional BASF service units in both project delivery as well as service and support.

In your role, you support the transition from project phase to successful operations for projects.

Work in close alignment with local and global team members and stakeholders to fully understand background and business requirements of each party and consult them in their activities.

Translate the collected business requirements into technical concepts together with team architects, especially regarding the platform and software architecture. Translate stakeholder requirements into concrete specifications for different Integration technologies, like SAP PO/CPI, SAP SLT, Kafka, API-Management

In charge of the development of innovative and data driven solutions with knowledge on prompt engineering and fine-tuning large language models for specific applications, experience with technology and frameworks like RAG, semantic chunking, hybrid searching, reranking, LangChain & LlamaIndex, and familiar more multi-modal models.

Drive the sustainable implementation of data and AI Solutions:
o You are experienced with Kafka publish-subscribe principles
o Understanding of event-driven microservices
o Experience in Cloud Big Data technologies and architectures within AZURE, AWS or AliCloud.
o Good ML Engineering and implementation by utilizing BASF standard DevOps platform and libraries.
o Generative AI related aspects, especially high-performance of the application, which works according to BASF Generative AI guidelines and compliance.
o Work in an international and agile DevOps environment and you apply agile principles for setting priorities and managing multiple stakeholders in a challenging business environment.
o Sharing your knowledge and expertise with colleagues and promoting a culture of AI-driven innovation within the organization


Job Requirements:
