The Information Technology (IT) department plays a pivotal role in accelerating our success by leading the company on a digital transformation journey. In this transformation, IT collaboratively partners with stakeholders to gain insights into their work, challenges, and needs to deliver digital solutions and keep solutions performing well. We help teams automate work by leveraging knowledge that has been captured as data in our information systems. We engage teams across the company to identify and prioritize opportunities to develop new solutions. We describe the work we do and plan to do as a Digital Transformation portfolio. 

 

We are currently seeking an individual who will manage the Digital Transformation portfolio, lead company-wide engagement to continually update the portfolio, regularly communicate status, and lead Program Management and Project Management teams to bring opportunities into and through IT development processes. Program Management helps to understand the needs of different stakeholder groups and align technology to help. Project management oversees development projects to manage scope, timelines, communication, risk, and overall project success. 

  

As our Digital Transformation Portfolio Manager, your work will focus on the following areas:   

 

Leadership   

Lead our Digital Transformation Portfolio strategy by understanding and aligning broad perspectives to Daktronics’ overall investments to achieve our strategic objectives. Lead complex coordination of initiatives and corporate-wide projects. Lead teams through the application of systems thinking to improve the overall efficiency, agility, leverage, and risk mitigation of projects.  Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business domain knowledge, objectives, and challenges. Bring technical solutions to solve business challenges. 

Management  

Manage the Digital Transformation portfolio, aligning needs, capacity, expertise, and other resources to successfully deliver on portfolio plans, throughout the lifecycle of initiatives. Collaborate across business and technology functions to monitor dependencies and provide centralized visibility across the initiatives. Manage issues and risks within the portfolio. Make key tradeoff decisions to do the “right” thing for the portfolio, considering all perspectives. Ensure consistency and excellence in the execution and efficiency of workflow across methodologies and frameworks within the portfolio.  

Supervision  

Supervise Program and Project Management individuals by providing guidance, support, and coaching. Identify individual strengths and provide opportunities for growth. Continually develop individuals and the team. Grow the individual and team capabilities to support company needs into the future.  

Where will I be working?  

Daktronics offers the flexibility to work from a U.S. home or Daktronics location. This opportunity is open to U.S. based candidates. Exact working hours are flexible, but this position will be based on working during regular business hours in the Central Standard Time zone.  

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, preferably in information systems, business administration or a related field with applicable experience. Master’s degree a plus. Exceptional leadership skills. Leading through influence in cross-functional teams. Experience working across various divisions, functions, or value streams within an organization. Experience with project management, program management, and portfolio management. Preference given to individuals that have developed and led project, program, and portfolio management business capabilities and teams. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.  Experience with supervision, overseeing teams in a technical environment.  Ability to deal with ambiguity, have difficult conversations, willingness to tackle tough questions, and active listening skills.  Demonstrate ability to learn and implement new technologies.  Strong organizational skills including managing multiple and changing priorities.  Analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Natural curiosity, especially for business acumen, processes, and technology.  Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgement.  Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team.  Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked. Ability to travel periodically to other Daktronics locations. Must meet Daktronics Qualified Driver definition.
