What you'll do...
Lead tolerance analysis modeling and reporting Assist in the fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems confirm the dimensional plan and customer-provided quality objectives Perform variation reduction and dimensional sensitivity studies Provide geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) support Develop the strategic slip plan and dimensional strategy documents Monitor and control the dimensional strategy documents Define and/or support the measurement plan development Provide insight to the product team on dimensional issues/concerns Review dimensional control capabilities of tool & die, processes, and assembly sequences Monitor assembly sequences for feasibility of weld, rivet access, and tool clamp access Support gage concept designs, gage follow-up, GR/GR&R, tool repeatability, and tool and die certification studies Coordinate quality and dimensional strategy reporting methods Assist in continuous improvement and VA/VE activity Assist design for assembly (DFA), and manufacturing (DFM), geometric dimensioning & tolerance (GD&T) to component and systems Take customer requirements and break them down into sub-system and component levels to determine design capability. Strategize to improve and influence Ford Engineering to implement this strategy Support assembly builds to achieve dimensional accuracy to customer requirements Support and develop measure points Support appearance and functional dimensional issue resolution Support related dimensional control elements (locators, checking fixtures, etc.) as needed Assist in the development of a control plan for systems or components
