Summary: The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for the overall coordination of the Dining Services department in accordance with facility policies and procedures, departmental standards, and regulatory requirements. The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible to ensure that quality dining services are provided on a daily basis and that the department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
This role will work every other weekend on site!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicates and promotes Pyramid Healthcare’s core values and mission.
• Plans, assigns and directs the daily work flow of the dining services department.
• Prepares meals and provide hands-on supervision of the production, cooking, portioning and serving of meals, per standardized menus and recipes.
• Collaborates with the executive director and regional dining services director to establish goals, objectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establishes systems that maintain operational efficiency and service quality standards.
• Oversees the execution of strategies to achieve department and organizational goals.
• Communicates department/organization goals to the dining staff and takes initiative to support the team in achieving success.
• Completes and submits a monthly dining department operations report and other reporting as requested.
• Positively influences the experience, motivation and performance of the dining services team.
• Communicates effectively staff expectations and take action to promote accountability
• Supervises the hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating and disciplining of employees.
• Provides input into employee performance evaluations and completes evaluations as directed.
• Completes employee rounding and take action with information received to improve employee experience.
• Directs the development of employees through coaching and providing timely feedback on performance.
• Collaborates routinely with the dietitian to ensure that client needs are met and modified diets are served accurately/adequately.
• Schedules and participates in regularly schedule team meetings and in-service trainings.
• Implements standardized work in the department, including policies/procedures, job flows, cleaning schedules and orientation/training tools.
• Conducts kitchen and dining room rounds on a regular basis and takes action to correct concerns.
• Manages purchasing, inventory and labor while monitoring costs and maintaining budgetary parameters.
• Responds to client and staff concerns professionally and promptly.
• Collaborates and communicates with administration and other facility departments.
• Promptly report and investigate workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses involving employees within the location.
• Attends and participate in required meeting and trainings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Day to day supervision of Dining Services team including but not limited to hiring, training.
Required Qualifications
Education, Licensure, & Experience
• Experience in food or culinary services including healthcare facilities, restaurants, schools or similar environment required.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role preferred.
• Serv-Safe certified or be willing to obtain upon hire.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Thorough knowledge of quantity food service, food preparation methods and operation of food service equipment.

Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet & indoors. This position will be scheduled based on operational need & will be required to provide own transportation. Incumbent may be exposed to viruses, diseases, and/or infections from clients in the work environment. Incumbent may be exposed to traumatic situations (i.e. psychiatric).
