Role Description:
The SAP Global Cash Collections Organization resumes ownership of the company’s trade receivables. The focus is reduction of DSO and improvement of cash-flow by driving timely settlement from Customers using standardized processes and tools. The organization will engage with other relevant departments within the company to resolve disputes and inform about necessary impairments. It provides timely and relevant reporting and supports projects. The intern’s role is to support the Cash Collections by interacting with relevant internal stakeholders, handle physical invoices and payment receipts in the office and support the Japan Cash Collector. The collection activities are centralized as part of SAP Shared services and hence the intern will be critical link operating from the office. This person is required to be in the Tokyo office for 2-3 days and for 4 hours and will be working under the guidance of Japan Cash Collector and Japan CFO’s office. During this time, the intern will have great opportunity to learn the cash collections process, internal stakeholder interactions and other finance / accounting related topics.
Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks:
- Handle physical invoices in the office received from Billing team and ensure the same are sent across to customers by post
- Maintain the records of sending the invoices to customers by post
- Liaise with customers for payment confirmations and details
- Collect the physical payment advice received in the office and share the scan copies with the cash collector
- Issue customer receipts for education invoices
- Liaise with customers for overdue ARs
- Update collection notes and reports
- Support local CFO office for any physical paper-based activities as and when required

No experience expected but should have good Japanese language skills. English speaking and writing would be added advantage.
