Job Description

Global Engineering Solutions (GES) are hiring a Director, Process Engineering to support the Capital Project Portfolio.  The Director will support the Large Molecule (Biologics/Vaccines/Sterile) Line of Business with an initial assignment overseeing the Biologics Drug Substance Portfolio of Projects across Ireland sites.   

Reporting to the Tech Center Large Molecule Area Director, the Director will lead a portfolio of capital project Process Engineering deliverables ranging from early pre-charter activities & planning to process & facility scoping/design specification, to vendor selection & management, and through construction, commissioning & qualification, process demonstration & realization of the solution.  The Director will participate in high performing teams as Process Lead for critical project(s) and participate in steering oversight for additional projects in the portfolio to ensure implementation of capital project scope, application of Lean methods, and execution of technical studies that support our business objectives.  

A preferred candidate will have appropriate subject matter expertise in Biologics DS capital projects & applications and is expected to maintain advanced technical knowledge in their respective area(s) of expertise to support the broader GES Network as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).   As SME, the Director will provide technical coaching across the larger portfolio and will have opportunities to be exposed to multiple business areas/LOBs.

The Director will exhibit advanced leadership, interpersonal & communication skills.  The candidate should have a strong understanding of the line of business, be able to implement standard work, and be able to drive decision making. 

Key responsibilities will include: 

Manage teams in development of project scope, front-end planning, and providing innovative designs & solutions that meet business objectives.Manages a portfolio of projects by identifying and obtaining appropriate resources, providing technical guidance during project, and assuring viability of technology in proposed configuration. Liaises with other technical functions to ensure successful technology transfer of new and inline products.Collaborates with other Integrated Project Team and/or Steering members and directs vendors/suppliers supporting the project portfolio. Provides leadership during project implementation, including Commissioning & Qualification and post OQ to realize designed assets.Ensures that deliverables conform to our company standards, are technically sound and sufficiently thorough.    Supports review and update of internal standards/procedures to meet industry best practices.Initial assignment will support portfolio of projects at the Dunboyne and Dublin Biotech sites including >30% travel to support partner and vendor management as required. Flexibility with travel and in project assignment location is required; assignments may require short term travel considerations.
