**Job Description:**
Director of Accounts Payable Responsibilities: 1. Oversees all accounts payable activities and drive strategy for streamlining and measuring the team’s performance 2. Drives required changes to move away from manual to automated processes, including the associated training and organizational changes 3. Responsible for ensuring timeliness and accuracy of accounts payable deliverables, including but not limited to accounts payable monthly close and associated financial reporting 4. Drives the team to move into a traditional shared services model resulting in industry based benchmarked performance metrics 5. Responsible for ensuring the validity and maintenance of data input into the financial systems related to accounts payable 6. Ensure accounts payable activities are in compliance with internal policies and best practices by regularly reviewing the policies and revising them as needed 7. Coordinates accounts payable function with vendors, purchasing and receiving departments 8. Manages all activities related to accounts payable of new site acquisitions ensuring proper cut over and controls around the conversion along with accounts payable related activities of integration of acquisitions 9. Oversees system implementations/upgrades for all systems as related to accounts payable 10. Customer service - assisting internal/field partners 11. Special Projects as assigned The above responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with documented company policies and procedures, and will be accomplished within established timeframes. All of the above will be accomplished collaboratively while also providing opportunities for independent decision making.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting Experience: 10 - 15+ years of progressive responsibility within accounts payable Preferred Experience: 10 - 15+ years of progressive responsibility within accounts payable within a large organization Licenses/Certifications: Certified Payments Professional preferred Soft Skills: • Must possess analytical abilities, act strategically and plan and manage execution of initiatives • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment • Strong organizational skills to include effective time management in all key responsibilities of the job • Readily identify needs and requirements, and establish plans and processes to ensure successful results. • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, research, presentation and organization skills. • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills • Team player with strong work ethics and honesty • Strong collaborator with professionals at all levels in global geographic locations • Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences • Knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint • Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
