Dir-Merchandising Support

Your Impact
The Director of Merchandising Support drives the execution of multiple work streams by identifying internal and external customer and operational needs; analyzing resources and costs and incorporating them into business plans; gaining cross-functional support for business plans and priorities; translating business strategy into actionable steps and executing the strategic imperatives by empowering, developing, and leveraging the merchandising support team. The Director is responsible for aligning resources; setting expectations and measuring progress, removing obstacles that impact performance; guiding performance and developing contingency plans as needed. The Director is responsible for leading and developing a team that will support Merchandising through process simplification and creating a unified approach on branding, communication, reporting, and labor management which will yield quality execution, increased efficiency, cost reduction and ultimately a greater return on investment of merchandising efforts.


What You Will Do

Serves as the internal solution minded thought leadership, representing merchandising on enterprise and support partnership initiatives that impact merchants, assisting the overall delivery of improved execution through merchandising.

Lead and manage resources, as well as portfolio of projects while providing support for the merchandising organization to include defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and conducting control analytics.

Develops and evolves strategic direction of Merchandising Support capabilities with core mission to protect the bandwidth of the Merchandising organization by allowing Merchants to focus on their Key Objectives through process simplification, improved communication, and reporting consistency.

Facilitate collaborative discussion on merchandising alternatives to determine best practices which meet the required goal and objectives most efficiently and pursue technological solutions to simplify execution and increase consistency throughout all merchandising initiatives.

Demonstrates continuous learning and maintains a highly skilled and engaged workforce by aligning resource plans with business objectives; removing obstacles that impact performance; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; motivating teams; preparing individuals for growth opportunities and advancement; staying current with industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices; providing guidance when complex decisions need to be made.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree Business Management, Business Administrations, Operations or related field

10 years relevant experience

8 years' experience in Retail, operations or home improvement

5 years Supervisory experience
