Responsibilities Compass Intervention Center has been providing psychiatric services in Memphis, Tennessee for 29-years. Compass Intervention Center is a 108-bed, free-standing facility that treats children and teens, ages 12 to 17 for Residential and Acute patients; ages 10 to 17 for our Outpatient Programs struggling with a psychiatric, substance abuse or dual diagnosis disorder. It is the only TRICARE®-certified residential treatment facility in Memphis, Tennessee. We are dedicated to providing age-specific programs to address the needs of children, preteens and teens with a wide variety of psychiatric illnesses, behavioral problems and substance abuse issues. Our treatment programs focus on youth and families struggling with emotional, behavioral, and chemical dependency issues. Website: https://www.compassinterventioncenter.com Core Job Responsibilities: The Director of Residential Services provides oversight of the therapeutic milieu in all areas of the hospital. The oversight/management of the milieu includes ensuring program schedules are followed, providing role modeling specific to managing patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses, as well as mentoring direct care staff in guiding patients towards attaining treatment goals. The Director of Residential Services is a liaison to department clinical directors and administration to ensure coordinated and efficient operations of services. The Director of Residential Services will be responsible for immediately responding to all codes and function as a co-lead with the hospital shift nursing supervisor with de-escalating situations. The Director of Residential Services will assist with both formal and informal training of MHTs. Offers direction to MHT level staff, including providing input for evaluation and performance management. Completes assigned documentation/paperwork. Provides crisis intervention as necessary in accordance with the therapeutic crisis management program utilized in the facility. New orientation and on-going training of staff as required. Assists in implementing programming and positive interactions among patients and staff. Provides guidance, modeling and coaching to MHT level staff to follow program activity schedules as well as safety and security procedures throughout the facility. Serves as a role model of staff and patients. Makes facility rounds and remains visual to all units/programs. Qualifications Job Specifications: Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service Field to include Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling preferred. Minimum of three years’ experience working with varied populations in a mental health/psychiatric setting. Supervisory experience preferred.
