Responsibilities This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Director of Risk Management/Performance Improvement/Compliance to join our team at Benchmark. We are a 10 bed behavioral health facility that serves adolescents (all genders) in a residential setting. The Director of Performance Improvement (DPI) has a broad responsibility to ensure the facility’s compliance at all times with all The Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, and state regulatory agencies standards and requirements. The DPI is responsible for staff training and education on the facility’s performance initiatives and measures including outcomes measurement and reporting. The Facility Risk Manager (FRM) has broad responsibility to protect the hospital's assets from loss. The FRM is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program (RMP) are designed so as to comply with guidelines and standards of TJC, other regulatory agencies, and the UHS T.E.R.M.© Program. The Facility Compliance Officer (FCO) has broad responsibility to ensure the facility’s compliance at all times with the UHS Code of Conduct and Compliance Program policies. Qualifications Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities (include but not limited to): RISK IDENTIFICATION AND EVALUATION- Provides aggregate analysis of risk and performance improvement data and trend analysis of incidents to facility leadership, client safety council, EOC/Safety Committee and other departments as necessary. RISK REDUCTION- Networks with department directors and medical staff to implement system changes aimed at optimally reducing or eliminating causative factors. PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT- Collaborates with facility leadership to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS and state and regulatory requirements. CLAIMS MANAGEMENT- Coordinates and assists in investigation of claims within the facility. COMPLIANCE PROGRAM- Facilitates a system ensuring facility and employee adherence to UHS Compliance Program. EMPLOYEE/PHYSICIAN EDUCATION - Facilitates, develops, provides education programs to ensure all staff are aware of risk management, PI, compliance related to their duties/job role. Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in related work. One year of experience in mental health services required. Must have excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, good computer skills, and be capable of tracking data on spread sheets. Must be willing and physically capable of responding to a physically aggressive clients using the CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention method. This procedure may include but is not limited to kneeling, squatting, bending and lifting.
