The Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting is a key role which will be responsible for managing the company's SEC reporting processes, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and addressing complex technical accounting matters. The position calls for an in-depth understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and exceptional analytical skills. This is a hybrid role based at our Parsippany NJ headquarters.
Responsibilities of the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting
SEC Reporting:
+ Prepare and review all SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required filings
+ Ensure the accurate and timely submission of financial reports in compliance with SEC regulations
+ Develop and maintain reporting templates and disclosure checklists to streamline processes and ensure consistency
+ Collaborate with external auditors to address filing requirements and resolve issues
Technical Accounting:
+ Research and document the company's position on complex accounting issues
+ Monitor changes to accounting standards and SEC regulations, assessing their impact on the company
+ Provide guidance and training to internal teams on new accounting standards and technical topics
+ Lead implementation efforts for new accounting standards
Leadership and Collaboration:
+ Work closely with cross-functional teams, including FP&A, treasury, tax, and operations, to align reporting and accounting strategies with business objectives
+ Support M&A activities, including due diligence and purchase accounting
+ Collaborate with budget and forecasting teams to ensure alignment between reporting and financial planning efforts
Budgeting and Forecasting Collaboration:
+ Partner with FP&A and other stakeholders to ensure accurate budgeting and forecasting processes
+ Provide insights from technical accounting and reporting perspectives to enhance financial planning accuracy
+ Drive integration between financial reporting and forecasting systems and processes

Requirements of the Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA required.
+ 10+ years of relevant experience, including industry experience in a publicly traded company.
+ Expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and technical accounting
+ Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail
+ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to stakeholders
+ Proven leadership and team development capabilities
+ Experience collaborating with budget and forecasting teams to drive financial accuracy and accountability
Preferred:
