Promotes and fosters independent functioning, mature peer relationships and responsible decision-making.
Assists in house meetings once a week to ensure that all items are covered, including menu planning, chore assignment, problem solving peer disputes and rcreational planning.
Provide immediate intervention to defuse potentially volatile situations that may arise between residens.
Assists residents in keeping their scheduled appointments.
Assists residents in menu planning, shopping and cooking.
Participates in admission and orientaion of new residents.
Completes all required documentation daily.
Communicates important information to Supervisor and briefs the staff for the next shift.
The overnight staff must be awake and alert throughtout their shifts.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications - External
High School Diploma or GED
Experience with SED/MMR adolescents is desirable
Valid and clean NYS Driver Licenses
Acceptable background clearance check through State Central register and compliance with health regulations for physical examination and mantoux testing.
This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical restraints, as specified by the program and regulatory body. Additionally, staff must successfully complete all required TCI refreshers in order to maintain continued employment
