OVERVIEW OF THE TEAM 

TD Direct Investing ("DI") is Canada’s largest online DIY investing provider, empowering self-directed investors, and traders with its full spectrum of powerful solutions to manage their investments with ease and confidence.  

 

The DI Segment Strategy team is responsible for leading the overarching strategy and priorities of the Direct Investing business with focuses on the active trader segment. To execute against the strategies as designed by this team, the team partners with colleagues across the DI business and enterprise. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

 

How You Will Contribute 

 

Reporting to the Senior Lead, Active Trader Segment Strategy, the co-op analyst role will support the ideation, development, and socialization of the TD Direct Investing Active Trader segment strategy. 

  
Accountabilities will include: 
 

Support, develop and execute strategies focused on growing and serving active traders. 

Conduct in-depth research on competitors, market dynamics, and customer behavior, particularly focusing on the needs of active traders. Use these insights to influence partner teams (e.g., marketing, distribution, product, etc.) to prioritize initiatives across the business. 

Identify strategic opportunities to grow revenue and expand our market presence by creating products and services tailored to new investors entering the market, as well as to long-term investors seeking more advanced tools and features. 

Keep current on industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to identify new opportunities and challenges that impact active traders, providing actionable insight. 

Partner with or data science and analytics teams to track the performance of strategies targeting active traders through relevant KPIs such as customer acquisition, retention rates, portfolio growth, and engagement metrics.  

 

 

REQUIREMENTS 

 

What You Bring to TD  

Majoring in Business, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Data Analytics or a related field. 

Proficiency in Excel, data querying, data processing, and visualization tools. 

Proficiency in PowerPoint and developing clear and compelling business presentations. 

Excellent problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to think strategically and synthesize information quickly. 

Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written and verbally) to a broad audience, while collaborating well with others. 

Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes ambiguous environment. 

Ability to independently manage deadlines while multitasking between different projects.
