Job Summary:

In this role, you will provide individualized support and training, helping clients thrive in their own homes and communities. As a DSP, you will work closely with clients, providing essential services that promote their well-being and integration into the community. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities, documenting progress, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support clients according to their Individual Support Plans, assisting with daily activities and personal care.
• Provide training in essential life skills, including personal hygiene, money management, and medication management.
• Document client progress and maintain detailed records, including daily notes and event reports.
• Accompany clients to appointments and community activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Implement emergency and safety protocols as outlined in the Individual Safety Plan.
• Attend required meetings and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years of age; must have a high school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities, or successful completion of training in the Missouri Quality Outcomes approved by the Division of DD regional office.

Additional Qualifications:
• Must have a reliable means of communication.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must possess skills to read and understand written materials and write clearly and legibly.
• Must have a working air conditioner and heater in any vehicle used for client transportation.

Physical Requirements:
• Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
• Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shifts.
• Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
