Bryant & Stratton College is seeking an Instructor to deliver a 5-week, on-campus (9 AM - 3 PM, Monday - Thursday), Direct Support Professional training program, encompassing various aspects of person-centered care, disability support, and relevant policies and procedures. This program will prepare individuals for employment as Direct Support Professionals upon completion. Tasks include:
Deliver educational curriculum in alignment with the NYS and/or NADSP competencies for Direct Support Professionals. Instruct and adhere to the tenants of the Code of Ethics for Direct Support Professionals. Act as a point of contact with provider liaison(s) for the shadowing experiences of students. Track attendance and manage classroom conduct in accordance with college guidelines Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and continuous professional feedbackQualifications:
Familiarity with the NYS DSP Competencies preferred Experience in supporting people with Developmental and/or Intellectual Disabilities preferred; professional experience in a healthcare setting required Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, motivate learners, and provide constructive feedback Must have excellent stand–up delivery and facilitation skills that drive key learning outcomes and motivate application beyond the classroom Minimum associates degree requiredSalary:
$5,000 per class
