Join our EMEA Direct Tax team as a Direct Tax Assistant Manager, where you will play a crucial role in navigating direct tax issues across 20+ jurisdictions. Reporting to the EMEA Direct Tax Senior Manager, you will contribute to tax reporting, compliance, and a variety of transformative projects across the region, with a focus on Finance and Tax Transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
Collaborate with the EMEA Direct Tax team to ensure seamless compliance within UK and EMEA jurisdictions. Assist in the review and preparation of tax computations in conjunction with external advisors. Liaise with Chubb Finance and external partners to ensure timely and precise tax return submissions. Support the tax team in real-time calculations and booking of true-ups to provisions as tax returns are filed. Aid in the preparation and review of transfer pricing returns and documentation, working closely with the transfer pricing team. Provide assistance during tax audits as required.Tax Reporting:
Contribute to the US, French, and Local GAAP tax reporting processes for designated entities. Assist with the quarterly preparation of the US GAAP tax provision and related disclosures in statutory accounts. Ensure timely accounting for tax provisions across all GAAPs, including French GAAP and Solvency GAAP. Support accurate journal entries and respond to audit inquiries promptly.Tax Payments:
Oversee the management of tax payment schedules, ensuring timely payments for allocated entities. Collaborate with advisors to verify accurate tax payment calculations. Maintain and update the cash tax payment forecast schedule. Ensure proper booking and reporting of tax payments within financial systems.Process Improvement:
Actively support the enhancement of current reporting and compliance processes, focusing on standardization and automation for efficiency gains.Legislative Monitoring:
Stay abreast of legislative changes across EMEA and provide insights to the EMEA Direct Tax Team regarding potential impacts.Tax Projects:
Engage with the EMEA tax team in various projects, contributing your expertise to enhance overall departmental effectiveness.Required Knowledge & Experience:
ACA qualified/part qualified and/or CTA qualified/part qualified or equivalent preferred.Proven experience in UK tax compliance and reporting, ideally within a multinational organization.In-depth understanding of direct Corporate Tax within a tax department (in-house experience preferred).Strong grasp of accounting principles and experience working across multiple GAAPs.Financial Services experience, particularly in the Insurance sector, is a plus.Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and current developments in direct tax.Familiarity with tax audit defence and experience collaborating with external parties, including auditors and tax advisors.Exceptional adaptability, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
