Director, Academic Compensation
Position Summary

Working collaboratively within the office of Human Resources with a dotted line to Office of Faculty Affairs to closely coordinate and align faculty related initiatives and policies while ensuring that HR practices support the overall objective of the institution.  Regular communication and collaboration with both HR leadership and Office of Faculty Affairs will be essential to ensure that job design compensation and reward programs are effectively tailored to meet the needs of both faculty and non-faculty academic staff.

Job Responsibilities Conceptualize, design, implement and evaluate direct and indirect reward and pay delivery systems that support the recruitment and retention of high-quality staff Serve as primary strategic partner related to policy and program development and administration, including developing project plan and timetable, identifying issues, recommending solutions, and implementing deliverables. Facilitate the preparation and submission of compensation initiatives for board approval, ensuring alignment with institutional policies. Take lead responsibility, as needed, for developing training modules and communication/education materials for human resource managers, line managers, and employees. Participate in and/or conduct salary surveys and perform market competitive analyses to determine pay trends and practices to support development of the annual salary program and advise on individual employee pay decisions. Assist in the development of programs, polices, and procedures that effectively balance market competitiveness and internal equity. Review team member classification and exemption status recommendations that have precedent setting impact. Facilitate the integration of compensation and reward systems with other critical human resource elements, including recruitment, benefits, and employee recognition. Collaborate closely with other HR units to offer integrated services. Collaborate with Asst. Director, Non - Academic Compensation on annual salary administration, including salary equity reporting, ongoing market comparative data, performance management reports. Develop and effectively manage assigned Compensation Analyst through providing input into the establishment of clear performance expectations. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's Degree Experience

Bachelor's degree and eight years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expertise with salary survey participation, market analysis, job evaluation, and base and • variable pay compensation plan design and administration. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database applications. Advanced analytical, critical thinking, and computational/statistical skills. Effective communication (verbal and written), consultation, facilitation, and presentation skills. Expertise in development of communication/education materials and training modules. Demonstrated knowledge of compensation practices and trends. Licenses and Certifications CCP certification preferred. Working Conditions/Physical Demands
