Seeking dynamic candidate who will be responsible for the US Accounting and reporting function. This individual will lead the accounting team activities including the US consolidation and provide accurate and timely information to management and corporate accounting, including supervision of related accounting staff. This candidate will be instrumental in bringing process improvements and efficiencies to the group as well as be involved in the implementation of new technology. This role also will allow this candidate to become closely involved in reviewing legal agreements and business development deals giving them exposure to other areas of the organization.
How you’ll spend your day1. Monthly and Quarterly Close Oversight:
o Manage and ensure accurate and timely monthly and quarterly closes for Teva USA and its subsidiaries.
2. US Consolidation and Reporting:
o Supervise the consolidation process for the US entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to corporate accounting.
3. Team Supervision, Development and Performance Management:
o Lead and mentor a team of direct and indirect reports within the accounting department, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
4. Collaboration and Technical Accounting Expertise:
o Partner effectively with corporate accounting, subsidiaries, and various departments to address complex accounting issues and provide financial insights.
5. Process Improvement, Automation and Technology Integration:
o Drive initiatives and integration efforts to streamline data flows, enhance reporting accuracy, and support decision-making processes with robust analytics and reporting tools.
o Implement best practices and leverage technology solutions to optimize financial reporting capabilities.
6. Issue resolution and Stakeholder Support:
o Proactively investigate and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies within the accounting team, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
7. Financial Review of Legal and Business Agreements:
o Assist in the financial assessment and review of legal contracts, business development agreements, and other strategic initiatives.
8. Audit Coordination and Compliance Oversight:
o Manage interactions with external auditors and support the quarterly and annual audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate audit documentation and responses to inquiries.
o Maintain comprehensive SOX compliance documentation for all areas of responsibility, ensuring adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
9. Additional Responsibilities:
o Undertake special projects and ad-hoc assignments as assigned by senior management or as business needs require, including the preparation of statutory financial statements and participation in strategic initiatives
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Education Preferred CPA License or MBA
Experience Required: Minimum 10+ years accounting and/or auditing experience, either in public accounting or related equivalent
Experience with SAP
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience with leading/supervising staff
Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: Knowledge and experience in application of US GAAP
