Job Description Overview
Blue Yonder is looking for a Director of Accounting Policy with a strong technical accounting background in U.S. GAAP & IFRS. This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Senior Director of Financial Reporting. This position will be responsible for researching complex technical accounting issues, writing technical accounting memos, revisiting our accounting policies including proposing updates and changes to those accounting policies as necessary, leading and supporting the implementation of new accounting standards, providing consulting to our accounting teams as well as other groups, and acquisition support for our global organization. This is a global position and will partner closely with Regional Accounting teams around the world, as well as Treasury, FP&A, Tax and HR.

Essential Functions
Support Blue Yonder’s technical accounting and financial reporting team as a subject matter expert.
Carry out research on intricate and complex accounting matters in order to develop a fact-based conclusion to ensure suitable application of authoritative accounting guidance, including drafting relevant technical accounting memos to support these conclusions.
Present issues, options, and recommendations to management, including working with our external auditors to reach a definitive conclusion.
Evaluate the impact of certain new accounting standards, prepare assessment papers, and execute the implementation.
Reassess historical accounting policies, processes and procedures to ensure established processes and procedures are aligned with current accounting requirements and partner with stakeholders to operationalize best practices.
Work with internal and external auditors to support quarterly and annual reporting and audit requirements by providing timely & accurate data and communication.
Assist in special accounting and finance projects on an ad-hoc basis.
Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
10+ years of relevant work experience
Big 4 public accounting and industry experience with a large publicly traded company a plus.
Bachelor’s Degree, and preferably an Advanced Degree in Accounting.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Strong technical writing skills.
Experience in the implementation and handling of complex accounting matters with proven ability to research, clearly articulate, and document complex technical accounting issues.
Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to apply sound judgment in order to: 1) facilitate problem identification, 2) generate alternative solution, 3) adapt to changing situations and, 4) manage issues to a successful resolution.
Ability to set and keep deadlines at a fast pace without losing accuracy.
Outstanding organizational and project management skills with extensive experience managing multiple complex assignments simultaneously.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, including written and verbal communication, especially in developing positions and presenting to management, auditors, and non-accounting stakeholders.
Demonstrated professional commitment, initiative, accountability, and ownership of assignments.
A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, power point and Outlook) required.

The salary range for this position is: USD $137,126.93 - $172,873.06 plus a bonus of 16%.
The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
