Job Summary
The Director, ACE Academic Support, reporting to the Dean, University College and under general direction, maintains responsibility for the overall management and direction of student academic support services including supplemental instruction, tutoring, mentoring and other services that provide academic support to the students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Establish the direction, goals, agendas, implementation strategies, and policies of departments.
+ Develop short and long-range goals and strategic plans to ensure the continuance of quality programs and facilities. Enhances the development of new programs and services to meet customer needs.
+ Oversee departmental leadership team.
+ Direct the efforts of and supervises departmental staff, setting performance standards and accountabilities.
+ Ensure that programs, activities, and services comply with University, State, and Federal regulations.
+ Administer the budget and oversee fiscal operations of departments.
+ Develop and seek funding for departmental programs to promote department missions.
+ Oversee communications, promotions, and public relations for departments.
+ Assess departmental needs with regards to administrative space, equipment, computing resources, and personnel.
+ Serve on various University, division, and departmental committees and represents departments at various State and National associations.

Additional Responsibilities
+ Oversee and assess supplemental instruction across the University and develop policies and procedures to ensure effective supplemental instruction.
+ Supervise ACE supplemental instructors.
+ Oversee and assess ACE tutoring services and develop policies and procedures to ensure effective tutoring.
+ Oversee and assess the freshmen mentoring program and develops policies and procedures to ensure effective mentoring practices.
Minimum Requirements
+ Education – Bachelor’s degree in applicable field.
+ Experience – Ten years of related experience in management.
+ Supervisory Experience - a minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a related work environment.
+ An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education and Experience
+ Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
+ Two years of experience in a higher education environment including, but not limited to, advising, teaching, or facilitating student academic support services such as supplemental instruction, tutoring, or mentoring.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
+ Word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Ability to:
+ Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Licensing / Professional Certification – None.

+ This position generally supervises employees.
Other Requirements
+ Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required.

+ Position requires maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.
Salary: $65,000/annually
