SUMMARY: The Director of Alternate Parts (ALT) Business provides leadership for the ALT operations team and indirect leadership of sales channel owners and ALT sellers. Responsibilities include financial performance, strategic planning, forecasting, and performance of the commercial value stream for ATS Engineering Solutions. As a key member of the Engineering Solutions leadership team, the Director of Alternate Parts (ALT) Business participates in defining and executing the vision, mission, and strategy to produce and deliver quality aircraft engineering products and integrated solutions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : PRODUCT SUPPORT + Alternate part development from idea generation through revenue generation: Works closely with the Engineering team to fill the pipeline of credible, high-quality ALT ideas for further development, including reviewing product design for compliance with commercial objectives, company standards, applicable customer/supplier contract requirements, regulatory requirements, and other specifications. + Supply chain management: Oversees supplier selection, evaluation, contracting, management, and purchase order placement in alignment with business needs and product/program objectives. Works with Quality to establish standards and KPIs around supplier and distribution performance. + Sales channel management: Manages the processes around customer RFQ for catalog/spares products, purchase order receipt, order entry, and order fulfillment at multiple stocking locations. Accountable for all aspects of customer part fulfillments by team from supplier selection through cash receipt, including warranty administration, RMAs, and coordination of technical information requests, engineering packages for airline review, and reordering. Interacts with customer representatives, regulatory authorities, and manufacturers. Provides commercial guidance around costing and pricing. + Inventory management: Responsible for setting inventory levels and stocking locations profitably by balancing market demand with inventory total cost of ownership. Leads cross-functional teams focused on executing operational, tactical, and sales objectives for assigned products, customers, and suppliers. + Business leadership: Establishes and reports on mission-critical KPIs for the Product Support department and underlying accountabilities. Participates in product and program reviews. Ensures adherence to schedule, budget, and quality in accordance with business requirements. Develops and maintains the required tools to track elements of the ALT operations and commercial operations, derive insights, and drive continuous improvement. TECHNICAL SALES + Generates new customers with existing ALT catalog and expands our catalog through new development, leveraging internal relationships in Airframes, Components, Modifications, and Used Serviceable Materials often. + Formulates and executes sales strategies, projections, and pricing strategies for responsible Business Unit. + Supports direct sales of all unassigned customers (those customers not assigned enterprise-level ownership). + Develops long-term strategies to leverage business unit strengths and create ongoing growth aligned with the company's goals. + Manages the development of proposals and contracts for Business Unit programs, including payment terms, pricing, work scope content, turn time commitments, schedules, and alternate approaches to out-of-work scope events. + Oversees the coordination of external pricing strategies between customers and within ATS. + Oversees development and monitoring of the performance on customer scorecards and directs the activities necessary to maintain a preferred status based on the customer scoring system. + Serves as the key focal point for our current Joint Development Agreements (JDA) with a major airline and seeks new JDAs with other airlines. Leverages sales channels to identify targets. + Serves as the key focal point for our industry relationships, including MARPA. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: + Excellent negotiation and leadership skills. + Proven ability to manage multiple tasks from multiple projects at one time. + Strong time-management and problem-solving skills. + Possess a high level of judgment and decision-making abilities. + Ability to motivate, coach, teach, and manage a team to meet desired goals. + Ability to effectively communicate professionally with the team, other departments, senior leadership, suppliers, vendors, and customers. + Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong PC skills. + Advanced Excel skills. + Strong working knowledge of operations management and statistics to determine appropriate inventory levels in alignment with customer demand. + Strong working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. + Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for airworthiness for the FAA and various foreign authorities. + Ability to interpret and use aircraft manufacturing, assembly, and installation drawings. + Working business knowledge in contracting, purchase order placement/receipt/acceptance, pricing methodologies, and cost accounting. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: + A bachelor’s degree in an applicable business field, such as supply chain management, business administration, marketing, operations management, or product/program management, is preferred. + Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant aerospace products experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. + Minimum of five (5) years experience leading a team in customer service, supply chain, and/or product support. + Oracle and Quantum experience preferred. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand, and walk; use their hands and arms; talk or hear; and focus on objects close up. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Compensation The base salary for this position is $126,000 - $188,000 annually, exclusive of benefits or potential bonuses. This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus. If you are hired at ATS, your final base annual rate will be based on factors such as skills, education and/or experience. In addition to those factors – we consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range noted above is the full base annual range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package, as detailed below.
