The Investments and Trading Engineering (ITE) team engages with our Investment Departments across the Portfolio Management Group (PMG) and Blackrock Global Market (BGM) to understand their analytical and technological needs from a fixed income perspective. The role involves building a deep understanding of the investment process, modelling requirements and the ability to deliver advanced applied analytical solutions. This candidate will oversee a cohesive strategy to continually evolve the agenda of PAG (Portfolio Analytics Group) to deliver high-impact solutions and, the delivery of proprietary python applications that complement core Aladdin tools.
Business Unit Overview:
Join a diverse and collaborative team of technologists responsible for the research and development of applied solutions produced for BlackRock. This group is part of the Investments and Trading Engineering (ITE) division which contributes more generally to the infrastructure platform, production of analytics, and the delivery of content to portfolio and risk management professionals (both within and outside BlackRock). Given the diversity of business objectives within BlackRock and across the external Aladdin client community, the models developed and supported by ITE span a wide array of financial products (equities, fixed income, commodities, derivatives, and private markets).
Strong candidates will bring a leadership voice, grounded in their broad-based experience across analytics and modelling. A successful candidate will be very technically inclined, have 10+ years of experience, be prepared to work with many different groups providing strong technical solutions that can be leveraged by other teams. Individual will be an individual contributor but must have good communication skills and demonstrate and ability to get along and work with others.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Establish strong working relationships across ITE, AFE
+ Identify opportunities with stakeholders for the execution of new ideas, tools, and platforms.
+ Excellent Java Programmer with strong design skills
+ Must have performance engineering capabilities and ability to write highly performant code.
+ Must be an expert in SDLC
Experience:
+ 10+ years of experience in programming
+ worked in trading or financial environments
+ Proficiency working with both technical developers and financial modelers, as well as portfolio management
+ Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
+ Have a proven experience and ability to train others in coding and modelling
+ Strong knowledge and high coding standard in Java
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$215,000.00 - USD$275,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
