JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox Corporation is seeking a talented business-minded broadcast distribution attorney to fill the position of Director, Business & Legal Affairs.  The Director, Business and Legal Affairs will report to the Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs.  The Broadcast Distribution team licenses FOX network programming to station groups across the country which hold the FCC licenses for TV stations in markets where FOX does not own FOX-affiliated television stations.  

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Negotiate and draft various agreements that license TV station groups the right to distribute the Fox Broadcast Network, MyNetwork TV, and NewsEdge programmingProvide advice and guidance to executives in Broadcast Distribution on legal matters, including the interpretation of agreements with station groupsAssist with legal issues arising in connection with station acquisitions and divestitures, including requests for consent to assignment and confidentiality issues

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

4-7  years of transactional experience in a top-tier law firm and/or as an in-house attorney in broadcast distribution or content licensing and distributionLaw degree; active member of California bar or Registered In-House Counsel statusStrong legal reasoning and drafting skillsStrong communications skills; both orally and in writing in a clear, straight-forward manner with all levels of management and company personnelAbility to make decisions and creatively solve problems while working under pressureAbility collaborate with a team, including cross-functionallyManage multiple projects at one time and shift gears as priorities changeClient-service oriented, personable, with great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $140,000.00-175,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
