Job Description

Team Summary

The Asia Pacific (AP) Consumer Solutions group manages the deployment and optimization of Visa’s core products consisting of Credit, Debit and Prepaid payments solutions. Additionally, the team manages new capabilities aim at modernizing and transforming credential lifecycle and proposition management, such as Account Level Management, Visa Flexible Credential, Installments and the provision of card-linked Benefits with the aim of promoting Visa credential use by consumer. Taken together, these capabilities will help Visa issuers create differentiated core card propositions, stay relevant to and drive preference amongst consumers, against a background of their evolving user needs.

The team is responsible for leading the shift from traditional card-based solutions onto digital form factors, with the goal of establishing Visa’s payments solutions as the market-leading way for consumers to spend their money and manage their payments across the Asia-Pacific region. Key tasks include shaping regional product strategies, managing product P&L, leading product development and coordinating these activities with both global and local Visa stakeholders.


What the Director, Card Benefits Sourcing & Management at Visa does:

Visa is seeking an experienced professional to join Consumer solutions to lead the formation of the Card Benefits team and establish it as a key capability within Regional Product Solutions. This role involves a significant component of cross-functional work and will require the Director to work closely with Marketing, Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA), Sourcing, the teams who manage strategic merchant relationships as well as with Global teams to identify, source and manage compelling offers and benefits that will be made available to Visa credential holders across the region. The offer and benefit content (“content”) sourced and managed by the team will be provided to a range of ‘client’ organizations within Visa AP, for example, Card Product & Segments team (for the provision of Affluent-targeted content), the Cross-Border team, the Engagement Solutions team (for content provided to consumers via platforms such as Visa Offers Exchange (VOX) and Visa Consulting & Analytics. The overall objective of this activity is to ensure Visa has a range of unique, compelling content to help our issuers drive preference for Visa credential use in AP as part of campaigns and Card Product CVPs.

The role-holder will manage a team of dedicated professionals who will identify, negotiate, source, deliver and monitor the performance of Visa credential-linked content. As such, the role holder will need strong negotiation experience and have a clear track record of monitoring the performance of content as well as making changes to these programs to improve their performance. A key part of the role will be in the management of internal stakeholder relationships – both with content source stakeholders (e.g. Marketing, Merchant management teams etc.) and content provision stakeholders (e.g. Affluent team, X-Border team etc.)

The AP Benefits team is a new one, formed to be a key component and contributor to the development and execution of our Regional Affluent Strategy as well as the execution of our X-Border strategy, both of which are part of Visa’s 2030 initiative to drive a step change in how we address the needs of Affluent consumers and X-border users. As such the Director will have the opportunity to form a new team and influence how that team participates in the roll out of a key regional strategic initiative for Visa. Once formed, the Director will be the team leader for this specialist group.

Consumer Solutions span all life-stage and income segments across Visa’s Asia-Pacific markets from entry-level Prepaid and Debit products through to High Net Worth credit propositions and solutions, and as such the team is a key platform for revenue generation and consumer engagement for Visa and our clients. The development of new innovative Digital Benefits Platform is an essential component of the next phase of credit growth in the region, and this role will be instrumental in executing our strategy to address the opportunity.

Qualifications

What you will need

Minimum 12+ years of experience in financial services or with loyalty programs across operations, strategy development and execution is desirableMinimum 6+ years of strong experience utilising analytical and project management skillsCurious, self-starter, fast learner and critical thinker able to imagine and absorb new market developments and evolving client needs and translate those into practical Visa solutionsAbility to build and maintain professional relationships, with proven negotiation and communication skills, used to secure deals and offers, ideally from merchants and third partiesStrong team player internally and with clients, working independently to coordinate cross functional activities, obtaining critical support from multiple stakeholdersDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.Able to work independently, yet seamlessly integrate and manage diverse groups and functions organized within different organizational reporting lines

Formation of a team dedicated to leveraging Visa data and market research to identify trends and opportunities for compelling card benefitsWork with the VP, Head of Consumer Solutions to define the vision, minimum viable product (MVP) and product roadmap for a new program of card benefits that can help us transform the way issuer and Visa drive PV and engagement amongst Visa cardholdersWork collaboratively with the Director, Visa Benefits Platform to inform how benefits content may be best presented to consumers and to determine the most intuitive redemption process possibleConducting market research to understand cardholder preferences and competitive offeringsDevelopment and maintenance of relationships with merchants and third-party suppliersNegotiation of terms and agreements to secure high profile, AP-wide benefits for Visa cardholders at compelling terms to ensure card benefits provision drives payment volume, core revenue as well as Value Added Service revenue as appropriate.Collaborate with stakeholders with Regional Products & Solutions, the Value Added Services team, Global and in-market counterparts to align benefits with business goals and strategiesMonitor and evaluate the performance of secured benefits, report on these findings and make recommend changes to strategy as may be necessary to senior managementContribute to the development of sales collaterals, deliver training and serve as the subject matter expert in order to enable proactive client engagement by in-market client-facing teamsManage the budget, financial planning and forecasting for benefitsManage a team of dedicated professionals to ensure success across the group
