The Director, Product Portfolio Strategy and Enablement role is responsible for supporting Beckman’s VP of Immunoassay Innovation, Product, & Program Management in defining and prioritizing Beckman’s Immunoassay innovation and R&D pipeline for future diagnostic solutions, leading cross-functional initiatives, and capability building to support product management across the product lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in identifying unmet clinical needs and translating those needs into groundbreaking products and in managing the sustainment and post-launch evolution of our product portfolio. This position is part of the Clinical Chemistry & Immunoassay Business Unit located at our Center of Excellence for Immunoassay in Chaska, MN and will be onsite. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Establish Immunoassay portfolio strategy & priorities, managing Beckman’s execution roadmap that drives new product development, product lifecycle management, and global product registration expansion & protection + Partner with product management leadership to provide a clear vision for best-in-class product management capabilities and coach Innovation & Technical Product Managers towards it; build and maintain strong relationships with R&D, Clinical & Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Operations, and Quality + Own & improve Beckman product management processes for evaluating and prioritizing product innovation opportunities, including business case development, forecasting, portfolio metrics, comparison methodologies, and product strategy review forums + Own & improve Beckman product management processes for collecting excellent voice of customer & other customer insights (incl. quantitative surveys) acting as a subject matter expert and coaching product managers to translate customer needs into compelling product strategies & concepts + Assess, prioritize, and lead cross-portfolio initiatives related to product quality, lifecycle management, regulatory changes, and margin improvement (e.g., assay formulation changes, packaging, IVDR) The essential requirements of the job include: + Successful candidates will have 14+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, engineering, medicine, and/or business management OR 12+ years of experience with a Master's / Doctoral degree in biological sciences, engineering, medicine, and/or business management. + Proven track record of success in product innovation and/or lifecycle management within the Diagnostics industry or a related field (e.g., Medical Device, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Life Sciences) and a deep knowledge of the healthcare industry. + Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a strong track record of driving market insights and translating them into actionable product opportunities + Strong collaborative leadership style, with a strong track record of driving results with buy-in within matrixed organizations plus experience effectively managing change and building processes and capabilities + Extensive experience in effectively communicating technical information to diverse audiences and championing innovation and/or lifecycle management cross-functionally. + Requires occasional travel of up to 20% and may include some international travel. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Preferably, candidates will have 3+ years of experience in top tier strategy consulting OR 3+ years of experience in product management and/or product development, with a strong understanding of the product lifecycle. + Master’s, Ph.D. and/or M.D. preferred but not required. + Preferably, candidates will have prior experience managing people. + Specific experience in Immunoassay Diagnostics, Infectious disease, Neurodegenerative disease and/or Cardiometabolic disease The salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $170,000 - $210,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
