Position Summary
Provide direction and strategic leadership for CPO organization and operational teams. The CPO is responsible for standardizing policy and processes as it relates to the capital delivery in Xcel Energy. Responsible for the comprehensive design, governance and standards. Strategically builds executable system standards for detailed engineering/construction to balance risk, system reliability, resource adequacy, and safety. Routinely interacts with Operations leadership and ISP leaders to identify pathways to success and provide a feedback loop.
Essential Responsibilities
Standards, policies and procedures– Oversees and owns the governance of project standards through the Project Planning and Execution Process (PPEP). Works with key stakeholders on PPEP adherence and ensures a continuous improvement feedback loop. Develops and oversee risk management and contingency standards. Responsible for ensuring a common tools, software and project controls are consistently utilized across capital delivery. Operational Excellence – Operate a rigorous and consistent review, update, and feedback process to evaluate company project standards and compliance programs. Lead and coordinate various operations committees to ensure high connection and collaboration between the ISP and Operations.Performance management and reporting – Responsible for establishing a common list of capital performance measures and reviewing subsequent results. Will establish a standard portfolio and project delivery dashboard. Will audit and ensure business unit adherence to standards throughout entire stage gate process.Relationship Management – Establish and maintain healthy and successful relationships with key Operations leadership, Operating Company, technology innovation team leadership, other jurisdictional and corporate peers, to ensure, effective information sharing, learnings and best practices implementation. Build and maintain external relationships in common areas of expertise.Continuous Improvement – Responsible for continuously improving process and governance based on lessons learned through the process and metric results. Using industry benchmarking to help continuous improve standards and governance. Responsible for overseeing development and instruction of training of standards and governance for all employees engaged in capital delivery process.Preferred Qualifications
