Department Summary The Robert D. Clark Honors College (CHC) is a liberal arts honors college within the University of Oregon, an AAU Research 1 institution. Founded in 1960, it is one of the oldest public university honors colleges in the United States. The College is a student first institution that features a dedicated curriculum that provides students a strong interdisciplinary foundation in the liberal arts, through innovative seminar-style courses and a personalizable capstone project that prepare students to problem-solve, innovate, and lead. Capped at 19 students, CHC classes allow for vibrant intellectual discussions, unique opportunities for pedagogical experimentation, and sustained faculty-student interaction. Position Summary Responsible for the cultivation and stewardship of a robust, dynamic network of CHC alumni and donors for the purpose of increasing CHC student retention through fundraising for scholarships, developing CHC alumni programming, and supporting student career preparation efforts. This position works collaboratively with a broad range of university departments and academic partners, including University Advancement and the University of Oregon Alumni Association, to develop and implement CHC alumni strategies and initiatives and ensure that they are well aligned with university and alumni interests. This position also supports the Clark Honors College Advisory Council, including meetings and activities. Minimum Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. • Five years of professional experience in alumni relations and outreach. Professional Competencies • Exceptional professional management and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. • Strong interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively and collaboratively with alumni, administrators, faculty, staff, partners, and other stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds. This includes professionalism and collegiality in a team environment as well as excellent judgment and discretion. • Excellent analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated experience in building alumni relations and outreach initiatives. • Experience and working knowledge of higher education. • Demonstrated experience in analyzing data. • Demonstrated experience successfully collaborating with other organizations.
