Your impact as a Clinical Cellular Therapy Lab Operations Director is Vital.  You will contribute to Vitalant’ life-saving mission by leading the lab operations teams that work in our cellular therapy biotherapy processing locations.  Every day you will help advance the mission to Unite Blood & Biologics Donors to Save and Improve Lives.

 

What you will do:

You will provide operational oversight for all cellular therapy processing lab locations. 

 

Where you will work:   

This position can be in one of the following locations:  Tempe, AZ, Chicago, Denver or Pittsburgh.  You will visit these lab locations quarterly. 

 

 Responsibilities:

Oversee Lab Compliance with internal/external regulations, policies, and procedures. Assures technical competence to provide testing services of highest quality. Directs overall management of the lab to include operations, personnel, public relations, and marketing. Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the QA program for the lab to ensure high quality test services.

What you will need:

 Knowledge/Education

Bachelor's degree requiredMasters degree preferredKnowledge of federal, state and local regulations as they relate to laboratory operations requiredKnowledge of management principles including human resources management, budget administration, financial analysis and business administration required

 

License/Certification

Reference lab – SBB certification required. HLA Lab CHT certification required. CHS certification preferred. CTL – CABP preferred

 

Experience

 

Reference Lab – Nine years of clinical lab or blood banking experience required. To include: Five years supervisory experience. HLA or CTL – Nine years clinical laboratory, Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT), Cord blood (CB), or CT product manufacturing experience required. To include: Five Years Supervisory Experience
