Working in conjunction with the Chief of Human Resources and senior leadership, the Director, Compensation & Benefits is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of all total rewards programs including compensation, benefits, and retirement, as well as ensuring that the organization’s Total Rewards strategy is aligned with the Company’s business objectives. The Director, Compensation & Benefits will also lead and manage the Total Rewards team to deliver on key objectives, including but not limited to, salary structure maintenance, incentive and sales commission plan design and review, compensation market reviews, benefit program plan design and review, and managing the day-to-day administration of the benefits programs and vendors.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's compensation programs, including job analysis/evaluation, salary structure administration, and design of base salary and variable cash compensation programs. Work as a business partner to leadership on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs.
In partnership with the benefits broker, manage the development and administration of the company's benefits programs, including health and wellness, insurance programs, income protection, and retirement.
Manage and oversee annual Total Rewards initiatives and objectives such as the execution of the renewal recommendation process and open enrollment process for benefit programs, bonus review cycles, and merit planning review cycles. Collaborate with external contacts such as third-party vendors, brokers and consultants on contracts, design work and implementation of the various benefits and compensation programs.
Responsible for compliance and financial reporting requirements of the health & welfare, compensation, and retirement programs; help prepare government filings, plan audits, and other tax reporting requirements.
Provides leadership and support to Total Rewards team through effective objective goal setting, delegation, and communication. Conduct meetings to ensure team is well informed of changes in programs, policies, and procedures.
Partner with HRIS team to maintain the compensation and benefits platforms in Workday, as well as leverage technology and automation to improve the effectiveness of total rewards processes and enhance the employee experience while minimizing costs.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Eight (8) or more years of combined, progressive experience in Compensation and/or Benefits positions, including demonstrated experience with design, model and implementation total reward programs.
Two (2) or more years of managerial experience.
Strong working knowledge of benefit regulations, market trends, and program design and maintain working knowledge of legislation that may affect compensation and benefits policies/practices, including ACA, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA and other applicable Department of Labor (DOL) and/or tax laws and regulations; fulfills compliance and reporting requirements.
Strong project management skills. Ability to manage different aspects of a project, prioritize to deadlines and deliver high-quality results on time. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Advanced command of Excel and strong proficiency with PowerPoint for creation of complex presentations.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence results across all levels of the organization. Position will have interaction with executive team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills that include a demonstrated ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
