CGI is seeking an experienced IT leader with demonstrated business development experience to assume the role of Director, Consulting Services (DCS) for CGI’s Atlantic Metro Newfoundland and Labrador (NL) market. The DCS is a key leadership position responsible for business growth and the delivery of IT consulting services to CGI clients based in Newfoundland and across Atlantic Canada. The DCS has overall accountability for their assigned client portfolio, including client relationships, business development, service delivery outcomes, team management, and operations management. In this role, you will build and foster relationships with clients and other key CGI stakeholders, identify business development opportunities, support solutioning, capture the sale, and direct the ongoing delivery of the associated engagements.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Atlantic Metro, the DCS will join a talented and dedicated CGI Atlantic Metro leadership team, responsible for developing and executing our strategy for our Atlantic region stakeholders, including clients, partners, shareholders, and the Atlantic communities in which we live.
• Act as the client account executive, assuming overall responsibility for client relationship management.
• Lead business development activities for existing and prospective clients, driving client proposals and presentations.
• Be accountable for the overall IT service delivery and consulting outcomes for client engagements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of clients’ business and industry verticals (challenges, trends, opportunities, emerging offerings).
• Work closely with the sector Vice President on strategic planning, go-to-market activities, and service portfolio expansion.
• Participate in business case solutioning and associated financial modeling.
• Draft and review new and existing contracts and SOWs.
• Be accountable for the financial outcomes of client engagements.
• Assist in building a talent pipeline and sourcing new talent.
• Lead, performance manage, develop, and motivate a multi-disciplined team of professional IT consultants.
• Expand CGI’s local ecosystem of external, third-party partners and suppliers.
• Actively participate in and champion team participation in local community events and ESG initiatives.
• Collaborate with other CGI sectors and global teams.
• A degree in Business or Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of diploma, certifications, and work experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in the IT consulting industry, with 5+ years in an IT consulting leadership role.
• An existing professional network of Newfoundland-based public and private sector business leaders, IT professionals, and community leaders.
• Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills.
• Strong executive-level communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
• A self-starter who is action-oriented, entrepreneurial, and detail-focused.
