Job Description

 

BACKGROUND:

NBCU TV& Streaming is looking for an experienced Director of Consumer Insights to join our team and drive primary research initiatives that establish a consumer connection to the Peacock, NBC and Bravo brands and increase engagement and retention among subscribers/viewers. This individual will use their prior experience partnering with Brand Marketing, Growth & Lifecyle Marketing, Customer Relationship Management & Platform Analytics teams to set a primary research roadmap that supports strategic business goals. In this role, you will report to the Vice President of Brand & Growth Strategy Insights and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organization to bring the consumer perspective into decision-making.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS:

A consumer insights/primary research leader ready to have an impact and help drive strategic decision-making. You should have experience leading quantitative and qualitative primary research initiatives in collaboration with senior stakeholders within Brand Marketing, Growth & Lifecyle Marketing, Customer Relationship Management & Platform Analytics teams to help drive business decisions. We are looking for a candidate with a deep background of leading a range of primary research methods including surveys, focus groups, diary studies, in-depth-interviews and advanced quantitative methods like max diff, conjoint and drivers analyses. You should also have experience working with analytics teams to marry survey data to first party user or subscriber data.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

Build relationships with leaders on the Brand Marketing, Growth & Lifecyle Marketing, Customer Relationship Management & Platform Analytics teams, acting as a thought partner and delivering strategic consumer insights that drive overall business success across Peacock, NBC and BravoCreate a strategic primary research roadmap to drive Peacock user engagement and retention, collaborating with the Advanced Analytics teams to deliver research insights that are integrated with first party subscriber dataCollaborate with the Customer Relationship Management team to provide insights and strategic guidance to optimize the various Peacock consumer journeys including deep analysis of specific cohorts like non-viewers and cancellersPartner with the Brand Marketing team to understand Peacock, NBC and Bravo positioning in the market and develop a playbook for regular testing of creative campaigns all along the development funnel including testing of scripts, storyboards, animatics, post-production assets, etc.Track and infuse Brand KPIs into everyday thinking and measurement across the organizationPartner with UX Research leads to deliver integrated insights and recommendations that drive retention and engagement of Peacock subscribersBe an innovative thinker and a clear, effective communicatorAnd most importantly, live the values of collaboration and teamwork, operating as one team across NBCU TV & Streaming

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Background of collaboration with Advanced Analytics teams for a streaming or other subscription service to execute primary research initiatives in support of user engagement and retention goalsProven leadership experience working with Brand Marketing teams to support creative development & brand positioningSkilled in quantitative and qualitative primary research design and project management including advanced survey writing, survey data analysis, moderator guide development and vendor managementDigital/app experience required; streaming service experience preferredExcellent communication skills and experience building consultative relationships with senior stakeholders to help them focus in on the goals that can be most effectively supported through researchExperience partnering with internal Data Analytics teams to connect survey and first-party user data and deliver integrated insights & recommendationsStatistics proficiency and experience required; ability to conduct advanced statistical analysis like factor and conjoint analysis is an advantage but not requiredAdvanced proficiency in survey analysis tools (e.g., displayr, Marketsight, SPSS, etc.) required and programming languages preferred (SQL, R)Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred in a relevant field (Quantitative Methods, Market Research, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, etc.)8-10 years’ experience in market research for an app, online subscription service or streaming service

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
