Create, own and drive the drumbeat of insights that your team delivers to the broader Enterprise to promote customer centricity across Gap Inc. including Relevancy Dashboard, brand equity, sustainability and consumer mindset trends.
Lead Central Insights and Loyalty & Payments Insights to define and execute against research roadmaps that span across our portfolio of brands (e.g., category deep dives, brand equity, relevancy reporting) and other key Central Functions (e.g., Real Estate, Digital, Returns, etc.) and the Loyalty and Payments team within Gap Inc.
Develop and foster strong partnerships with other Centralized business stakeholders including the Loyalty & Payments leadership, and serve as a trusted SME for insights
Collaborate with other insights and analytic functions such as Data and Analytics and Audience Intelligence steams and other key functions to enhance insights and create a holistic view of the customer
Influence senior leaders to take action through your and your team’s compelling work
Deliver compelling presentations with Business Partners/Senior Stakeholders driving clear understanding, empathy and accountability for improving our customer perceptions and experiences
Lead and coach a team to develop stronger quantitative research skills exposing them to new methodologies and data analysis capabilities, as well as planning research, conduct quantitative research and analyses (survey design, programming, analysis and reporting) as well as qualitative research and analyses (e.g., question design, synthesizing open ended responses into themes) resulting in actionable recommendations
Speak up and defend the consumer POV while successfully building productive working relationships with colleagues
Promote a ‘one team’ environment through close partnerships across all of Consumer Insights, Strategy and other functions.
Who You AreYou have extensive professional experience in Marketing Research, Consumer Insights, and/ or Strategic Management consulting
You have a proven record of delivering consumer led business outcomes though leadership of a team from structuring work, people and interdependences; prioritizing; executing under tight timeframes and presenting and influencing outcomes based on learnings
You have very strong analytical skills and are able to develop hypotheses and prove them out by digging into data.
You love to ‘geek out’ over large data sets and lets your curiosity drive you to dig into the raw data yourself to uncover nuggets of insights that may be less obvious.
You have a natural curiosity: always asking the next question and seeking to understand at the nuanced level to spark a new idea
Deep experience pulling in, analyzing and reporting on third party syndicated data (e.g., YouGov, BERA) and other tracking data to show progress over time
You are are an excellent storyteller who can connect dots and develop compelling and actionable insights through your strong writing, speaking, and communication skills (ability to synthesize information into a clear, simple story and visualize data)
You are able to assess relatively complex situations and analyze data to make judgments and recommend solutions, utilizing expertise of CI and an understanding of functions and business units.
Proactive – you are not an order taker waiting for research requests but rather you form hypotheses around the businesses biggest opportunities and prove them out with research.
Proven track record as a people leader, enjoys coaching, providing constructive feedback to others to help them grow their career
Experience engaging with and influencing senior leadership at large companies (known as a SME for research and insights)
Experience leveraging third party data sources
Expert in Excel, SPSS or other analytics tool, as well as the MS suite of tools (e.g., Powerpoint, Word, etc.)
