Purpose
Own the design and continued global implementation of Data Management and Governance in alignment with Newmont’s global strategy (across all functional areas of Newmont and all Regions / Sites) Provide strategic direction as Newmont’s key subject matter expert of Data Management for the company Provide Data management and Data Governance capability and capacity in alignment with the strategic direction set out by the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer. Provide Executive level Data Management ‘thought leadership’ in Newmont’s growth areas, specifically IT/OT, Enterprise Asset Management, Business Improvement, and Full Potential. Provide Executive level guidance and leadership in the identification of existing and new opportunities in the areas of Data Maintenance and Data Governance. Grow, Lead, and Restructure (as required) Newmont’s Data Management organization to ensure the proper capability, capacity, documentation, operating model and alignment on policies / procedures to provide world class support to our Functional areas. Work closely with Newmont’s Functional Leadership and Process Owners to identify Data Maintenance and Data Governance required to enable growth and continued value creation in existing and developing areas of the business. Lead and manage the day to day operations of the Data Management and Data Governance teams, including planning, development and management of the team members in their daily duties. Set strategy and all priorities for the team.
Essential Duties
Set the vision, mission and strategic direction for Data Management and Data Governance teams, in alignment with the strategic direction of the company, the company’s business plan, and our global technology platform (including SAP). Lead the development, enhancement, and implementation of Data management and governance across all existing and new functional areas of Newmont coordinating all activities and mitigating conflicts with other priorities. Manage relationships with all Executives, process owners, and data owners, ensuring business partners are in alignment with the end-to-end data governance processes, including an assessment of and recommended resolution of data issues. Proactively develop and manage the Data Management organization employee development, including providing department/employee training, timely and relevant feedback, motivation, reward and recognition, career development and succession planning. Work closely with the all business functions regarding business requirements and their ownership of Master Data processes (quality, performance, regional exceptions, etc). Ensure completeness and accuracy of overall Data for Newmont, report results to Executives, Shared Service Organization and various business leadership as required. Participate in and lead project teams responsible for system implementations and enhancements (as required) focusing on gaining new efficiencies and working more effectively (in the area of Data Management) Institute, refine and embrace key measurements that communicate department performance, including KPIs, monthly achievements, projects and issues to be addressed.

Training & Experience
Knowledge:
Bachelor of Science degree or higher (master’s degree preferred) in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology or other related fieldExperience:
10+ years of Master Data related work experience, preferably in management position 10+ years of management experience of diverse teams Experience on large scale and/or complex projects and programs, including the organizational change management components Proven leadership and management experience and ability to work in a matrix organization Demonstrated SAP experience and/or related computer knowledge and abilitiesSkills and Abilities:
Solid understanding of business processes in a global organization Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels within the organization Strategic thinker with ability to prioritize, delegate and drive appropriate business decisions to meet company and department objectives Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsWorking Conditions
Position based in Denver, Colorado corporate headquarters. May require travel to remote mining locations internationally. Flexible hours to accommodate global meeting times.
