What is the Opportunity?
Lead the development and execution of RBC Bank’s US Data Strategy, including implementing policies, procedures, and standards for 1st Line of Defense data risk management practices in alignment with the RBC IHC and in accordance with regulatory and Heightened Standards expectations.
What will you do?
Enable Robust Data Management & Governance:
Lead the development and delivery of RBC Bank’s 1st LOD Data Governance Program including oversight of data risk exposure across the data and reporting lifecycles, managing ownership for data and data quality controls, streamlining data sourcing for critical reports, as well as serving as the central point of expertise for data risk management guidance across RBC Bank
Responsible for establishing and managing RBC Bank Data Domains, assigning data management roles and responsibilities across the data lifecycle, and prioritizing the oversight of high-risk data and critical reports.
Designing and operationalizing data quality management and issue resolution processes in collaboration with key data and reporting partners
Manage team responsible for documenting key data management artifacts, such as data dictionaries and lineage diagrams, and enabling strategic data sourcing for critical business processes and reports
Develop Centralized Domain Dashboards, Monitoring Implementation and Progress
Act as primary liaison between RBC Bank, IHC and Enterprise data management partners on data governance and reporting activities including risk assessments, control monitoring and regulatory MRA remediation.
Deliver Valuable Business Insights
Develop improved analytic processes and capabilities
Maintain Reporting and analytic tools in alignment with policies and standards
Deliver insights with business objectives
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization
Drive Simplified Data Environments:
Strengthen our Data Capabilities by Developing Data Products in Data Hub
Identify Unapproved Data sourcing patterns
Develop Master/Reference Data Target State Architecture
Automate routine data processes
What do you need to succeed?
10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Data governance and leadership experience
Excellent analytical and communication skills and specific ability to present analysis and models in a straightforward manner
Ability to work well within teams as well as an individual contributor
Experience managing large amounts of data in order to develop reporting and analysis for strategic decision making
Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)
