We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Director, Digital Assets and Currencies Engineering.

Job Profile

Lead engineering for digital asset and currency (DACs), working across HSBC with the engineering teams of all businesses. Includes technology strategy, architecture, research into and deployment of new technologies and innovative vendors. Reports directly to the Group Head of Digital Assets and Currencies, and partners closely with engineering leads across the bank to create an effective enterprise-wide approach.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Work with colleagues across HSBC to define and lead the best technology approach for digital assets and currencies. Be a thought leader for the subject Work to ensure that HSBC understands relevant DACs technology developments and adopts the best approaches in this sectorEnsure we have a clear, scalable and cost-efficient DACs technology strategy Capable of forming strong and effective relationships with peers across the organization to deliver this vision Lead thinking on DACs design choices, ensuring that realistic and valuable products are implementedUnderstand and manage relevant technology risksWork with colleagues and teams across businesses, technology and digital functions to further our DACs agendaWork with third party firms to help achieve goals and manage relationships, including fintechs, established vendors, and partnersWorking closely with commercial teams, ensure that our DACs offer is appealing and well understood by our customersWork to ensure that HSBC’s DACs technology strategy is known and well explained to all relevant stakeholdersProvide insights into product, technology, and market trends, as well as identifying opportunities for further growthExternally represent HSBC in front of regulators and clients to explain our DACs technology approach
