Director, Digital Governance

As the Director of Digital Governance at Manulife, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling governance frameworks that improves consistency, efficiency, and innovation across our digital platforms in Canada, Asia, and the US. You will collaborate with design, engineering, and product teams across jurisdictions to implement governance structures, drive compliance, and adapt strategies to meet evolving business and customer needs.

This role requires a leader who has navigated the complexities of embedding governance frameworks in a global enterprise. You will define strategies, influence partners, and oversee execution to ensure that our digital governance initiatives deliver measurable business value while meeting regional and local requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Governance Framework Development: Lead the creation and implementation of governance structures for the Digital Storefront project, including Domain Rationalization, Common Capabilities, and the Global Common Design SystemDevelop and document governance policies, procedures, and standard methodologies to ensure consistency and compliance across digital initiativesTeam member Engagement: Collaborate with Product Owners and other team members to gather requirements and ensure governance frameworks align with organizational goalsTraining and Communication: Design and deliver training programs and materials to educate teams on governance policies and proceduresContinuous Improvement: Establish mechanisms for supervising and evaluating the effectiveness of governance frameworks, recommending improvements as needed

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in governance development, policy writing, or a related field Strong skills in documentation and communication, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearlyExperience in digital environments, with a focus on governance and complianceExperience in a global organization (North America, Asia)

 Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with establishing governance frameworks in digital transformation projectsFamiliarity with domain management and digital design systems

Salary range is expected to be between

$105,750.00 CAD - $190,350.00 CAD
