The Director of Digital Oncology (DO) Product Marketing is a key leadership role, reporting to the VP of Marketing & Sales Operations. This business-oriented position is responsible for managing and developing a high-performing product marketing team while co-developing and executing strategic plans for Varian’s DO portfolio. The Director ensures the development and implementation of effective go-to-market (GTM) strategies, collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, and oversees all stages of the product lifecycle to drive product adoption, revenue growth, and brand leadership globally.


The Director maintains close relationships with customers and industry leaders to gather insights, assess market trends, and inform product and marketing strategies. They will represent the product line as a digital oncology portfolio expert (SME) at industry events and in customer engagements, ensuring successful product launches, effective lifecycle management, and consistent alignment across the portfolio. This role is designed for a seasoned marketing leader with a strong track record in product marketing, strategic planning, and global market expansion. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Varian’s Digital Oncology portfolio, driving its success across markets worldwide.

Major Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:

Manage and develop a high-performing, results-driven product marketing team.Act as a senior leader within the organization, driving alignment and collaboration across cross-functional teams.Oversee the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum impact.Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and professional growth within the marketing team.

Strategic Planning & Execution:

Define and execute the global product marketing strategy in alignment with Varian’s business objectives and growth goals.Work with the VP of Marketing & Sales Operations to position the DO business line for worldwide sales growth and market penetration.Collaborate with Product Management and Commercialization teams to define and implement the product roadmap and marketing strategies.Lead the development and execution of GTM plans, including messaging, pricing, positioning, and commercialization strategies.

Product Lifecycle Management:

Represent the DO product line as a subject matter expert (SME) at trade shows, KOL visits, scientific meetings, and industry forums.Oversee the creation and maintenance of marketing collateral, including presentations, demos, and training materials.Work with Product Management to ensure customer insights and market feedback inform product roadmaps.Align with the product management and commercialization team on product obsolescence and discontinuation decisions as part of effective lifecycle management.

Market Insights & Opportunity Identification:

Identify market needs and opportunities through customer research, competitive analyses, and industry expertise.Conduct ongoing market segmentation and analysis to support targeted product strategies.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product trends, competitor offerings, and emerging market demands.

Collaboration & Communication:

Partner with regional marketing teams to establish consistency in product messaging and branding globally.Collaborate with sales teams to analyze sales trends and develop customer segmentation strategies.Communicate product insights, positioning, and value propositions throughout the organization, ensuring alignment on goals and strategies.Work with education, helpdesk, and professional services teams to ensure successful adoption of solutions through effective training and deployment.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

Build strong relationships with key clinical and industry partners to increase the visibility of DO products through conferences, events, and publications.Partner with GEO marketing leaders to identify and address local market needs, ensuring commercial strategies are regionally relevant.Act as a trusted advisor for customers, providing insights into DO solutions and their value in addressing clinical and operational challenges.

Sales Enablement & Training:

Oversee the development of sales training materials and ensure alignment with commercial strategies.Collaborate with GEO marketing and sales teams to identify training needs and opportunities for internal and distributor partners.Develop customer segmentation strategies for targeted product launches and growth initiatives.

Required Skills, Experience & Education:         

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.Career experience in the field of Digital Health, or OncologyProven ability to build, manage, and inspire high-performing, cross-functional teams.Experience in leading global teams and collaborating across geographies and cultures (desirable)Strong mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.Track record of successfully launching and managing global software or technology products in competitive markets.Expertise in crafting and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies for complex, global product portfolios.Strong business acumen with the ability to align marketing and product strategies with revenue and growth objectives.Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, competitive landscapes, and sales dataProficiency in budgeting, pricing strategies, and managing cost structures for product marketing initiatives.Excellent skills in customer engagement, including understanding customer needs and translating them into product and marketing requirements.Strong collaboration skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders, including product management, sales, regional marketing, and technical teams.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for engaging internal teams, customers, and industry stakeholders.Familiarity with software solutions, SaaS business models, and healthcare IT systems.

Other Key Skills:

Strong project management and organizational abilities, with attention to detail and deadlines.Proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM platforms, and analytics software.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with competing priorities.

Travel requirements: 25-50%

The base pay range for this position is

Min $164,700 - Max $247,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
