JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic, hardworking, and creative Director, Editorial to join the FOX & Friends team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the editorial strategy for the entire FOX & Friends franchise. We are looking for a natural leader, a proven go-getter, and someone who can excel under the fast-paced demands of morning programming. This position requires excellent editorial judgment, breaking news experience, and the ability to create a compelling and cohesive content strategy.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Play a key role in development and implementation of an overarching editorial strategy for the FOX & Friends franchise, ensuring alignment between live programming and future productions.

Participate in the development of the show, ensuring consistency with the franchise's strategic goals.

Facilitate effective communication with the show hosts and production teams when needed to ensure a unified editorial vision.

Coordinate with talent, producers, bookers, and the control room during breaking news, aligning immediate coverage opportunities with long-term strategic objectives.

Identify and recognize content with high potential for compelling television that aligns with FOX & Friends’ editorial strategy.

Participate in daily team meetings to develop show content that supports the broader goals of morning programming.

Mentor and develop show staff, including Line Producers, Writers, Bookers, APs, and PAs, fostering a team that understands and executes the team’s editorial strategy.

Participate in weekly ratings analysis in support of driving further success for morning programming.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience.

7-10+ years of programming experience

Excellent organizational and managerial skills, with the ability to create an environment that fosters teamwork and strategic alignment.

Demonstrated experience with on-air talent.

Decisive and skilled management of a control room.

Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines.

Exceptional editorial and writing skills.

Ability to recognize stories with high potential for compelling television that align with the franchise's strategy.

Proven track record of leadership and newscast ratings growth.

Strong passion for and knowledge of current events, news, and politics.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $140,000.00-192,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $116,600.00-160,000.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
