WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

In 1981, Nike created the EKIN team (EKIN is “Nike” spelled backwards) to be Nike’s Athlete Missionaries and serve as a reminder to go back to the days when athletes represented Nike, converted other athletes to our shoes and built personal and meaningful relationships in the community.

The EKIN team are our heartbeat in the streets, building relationships and evangelizing the Nike brand and our product innovations.  Nike’s product authority, EKINs use their voice both internally, and at times, externally to empower all athletes to make-sport a daily habit. 

Today, EKINs continue that mission and bring Nike's inspiration and innovation to athletes in the markets they serve and beyond.  This role will lead our EKIN team in North America and champion sport and innovation in the marketplace across Nike Retail stores and our Partners.

The ideal candidate brings a dedicated approach and passion for Nike and sport, some background in retail, and excellent relationship building and influencing skills. It’s how we started over 50 years ago and the combination of these qualities will power Nike in compelling ways to better serve athletes for the next 50 years.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

Bring inspiration and innovation to every athlete to the worldPeople first and purpose driven leader who will create culture and inspire a team.Leverage your passion and position to strategically authenticate Nike Sport stories in the marketplace, bringing Nike Sport & Innovation stories to life across the marketplace as Nike’s product authorityLeveraging marketplace expertise to develop locally relevant annual and seasonal strategies and plans aligned with city or geo marketing teamsActively participate in sport communities. You will integrate and collaborate with the community in meaningful and impactful ways that reinforce Nike’s mission and beliefsYou will serve as Nike’s eyes and ears, shaping marketplace insights with observations of the consumer, product, competition, and trends

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE

Must have a deep passion for the NIKE brand and sports Bachelor's degree or higher; or combination of relevant education, experience, and training7-10+ years of experience and a proven leader with expertise in leading teams and building culture, inspiring, and establishing trustAbility to connect and inspire people and influence leadership across the organizationDemonstrated knowledge and authenticity in key sport categories and markets as it relates to consumer trends, local market hot spots, and retail destinationsAbility to drive a culture of always-on testing and learning, including the rapid application of consumer signals into strategy, planning, and content iteration
